Pokemon Go had no input from Nintendo what so ever. The only link between the two in Nintendo has a fairly sized share hold in the Pokmon group. In fact, by your comment --
''Expectations for the Mario app were heightened by the summer craze for "Pokémon Go," a free-to-play smartphone game developed by a Nintendo affiliate.
But analysts pointed to differences between "Super Mario Run" and "Pokémon Go." The P...
I genunily think it's just teething pains for Nintendo. The mobile game market is so alien to the traditional video game market. There's also the problem of releasing it in various countries and platforms. Run is not out on android yet, which is a huge market within itself. Nintendo aren't exactly known for keeping in the loop with modern consumers these days
'but by most measures that I can find it’s doing OK'
When was OK good enough for a huge company such as Nintendo?
how did it justify Overwatch's price? assuming Overwatch's price needed justifying in the first place?
Did you ignore the post or? It literally gives you context for the title.
I think the elephant in the room is Overwatch. God awful marketing didn't help Battleborn either though
It's worth remembering that this is their first game. Miitomo was just a social media app, Mario Run is their first full game release on mobile.
Nintendo's sill figuring out the market. It's not exactly the most predictable of markets either given how wildly games/apps can rise and fall within any given month
looks canny slick
Just without the bosses lol
I love Super Hot, awesome twist on the FPS genre
For sure, there seems to be some nice concepts to give it that fantasy story driven twist too. Hope they do well
Niche? Millions of people buy turn based games lol Pokemon says hi
It they replicate anything of final fantasy tactics that would be awesome
Where's the complaint in the topic? Are you just seeing one in order to post that comment or?
Given the first paragraph mentions Lost Odyssey, i think they would have already played it lol
It is indeed! I'm excited to see the full game, feels like forerver since it was announced
the same way some people prefer Rainbow Six, SWAT 4, Ghost Recon (older titles ofc) to the likes of Call of Duty and Medal of Honour
Dragon's Dogma took more aspect of Western RPGs and Monster Hunter more than anything. I really love the series, but i don't think i'd ever labour them into the same area as say Final Fantasy or JRPGs
Having the option to turn it on would create far too many headaches for developers. I don't think turn based is dated, quality is timeless. I can play Chrono Trigger and still have a wonderful experience. Heck, people go crazy for Pokemon and that's still turn based.
For sure, but it's still a stumbling block effecting the game apparently
