giving it video out doesn't make it any less portable...

Not in this case. The PSvita has the potential to do exactly what the new WiiU controller does. But not only that, it can do A LOT more. The fact that the PSVita can go with you out of your home vs the WiiU controller that can't be too far from the console.
From what I have seen, I bet the PSVita can do the same things when connected to the PS3. The best part is how Sony's PSvita can also go with you where the new Nintendo Wii U controller can't be too far from the console itself.
This is a huge difference that makes PS3/PSV more appealing to me
MW3 uses the SAME OLD ENGINE that the last 5 games used.. I can't wait to get my hands on Frostbite 2.0! BF3 looks amazing! Thumbs up for Dice taking their games to the next level and leaving COD to use their stale engine.
Not to mention the gameplay is much better in BF games and the destructible environments in multiplayer create a whole new aspect that COD completely lacks
So Nintendo admit they are finally joining THIS generation of hardware. A bit late because Sony and MS will be revealing their next gen hardware by the time WiiU is released

I feel like WiiU was Nintendo's step into THIS generation. They should have taken things into NEXT gen and shown better graphics than PS3 and 360

why is that a good thing again? If the hand held controller WAS the console then you could bring it anywhere like a portable. This is a controller that you have to be in range of the console to play.
I own all three consoles and I don't own a kinect so MS let me down big time.

It really is. It looks great! My only issue is that it is really big and knowing Sony they will release a slim model a few years from launch. I am buying it day one though

I am all for the PSVita, I plan to get one day one.. But I don't see why so many of you are defending the fact that it will not have video out. It is a feature that some people will use, you might not plan to use it but some people will.
As far as the argument goes about it being a portable and not a console.. Video out will NOT make the system any less portable.
