@newmonday, As I said before. 360 had a year lead along with PS4 launching it a ridiculous $600. These two things put 360 in a very good place at launch. Once everyone had one, people bought what their friends had because gaming is more social and connected now. Even people with both consoles ended up getting multiplats on the system that all of their friends used.

There is a HUGE difference between movies, video games and real violence. I play plenty of violent video games, Kratos ripping off the head of a god, The Last of Us and so on. I watch tons of TV and movies like Dexter and Breaking Bad that are all out brutal. There's something about knowing that it isn't real that makes it ok for you to take in this kind of violence. While I won't deny that because you are kind of right, Killzone and BF aren't tired out series. They aren't released every single year for the past 6 years so to many, it is something new.
I feel bad for those who have to wait til the 27th when all they want to do is play The Last of Us. I thankfully didn't update because I was too busy playing TLOU and beat it. Now to venture into multiplayer.

I will get both but I won't get both at launch. Money is partially the issue, I can afford both but it is just way too much to drop at once. Not only that, but there isn't enough time in the day to experience both systems at the same time. I will be getting the PS4 at launch and learning the ins and outs of it while playing some Playstation games. Down the road into next year I will eventually get the Xbox One as well. Many people are probably going to do the same.
MS is in a really bad place right now. All this bad press is not good at all for a launch. Last gen, MS had a year head start and PS3 launched with a ridiculous price point which gave 360 a huge lead. This lead continued through out the life cycle because it started strong and friends would get the console that their friends had to play with them. Not only that, when you have both consoles, you get the multiplaform games that are on the system that your friends play on.

Technically you don't own the games PS+ gives you either. Your subscription ends and so does your access to the free titles. I am a Sony fanboy with Plus so this doesn't bother me. Just stating the facts.

That and Sony said they wouldn't enforce it. Sony has over 20 first party studios developing play station games that won't have drm. MS uses third party that will. They are in bed with EA and Activision..
