As much as I support the idea of a remake, it's not gonna happen. Phoning in the remake, like square-enix does on most of its FF remakes, will only upset the FF7 loyalists. And doing a full fledged remake would take too many resources they could dedicate to FF14 (which is what they will do when they are done).
I'd love for it to happen, but I doubt it.
HD broadcast? psh, ps3 price drop? small beans... I bet Al Gore is announcing his candidacy for president, live on a cable channel most people don't get!
I may be wrong, but I believe many, if not all, of the FF games are built on custom cross-platform middleware. Ever since FF7 the games have been released for the PC (an additional platform).
I think the size of the game and the capabilities of the machines will determine which system it is on.
With the exception of Mortal Kombat nothing on this list is older than 1998 (Ocarina of Time). How old is the author of this 15? And several of the games aren't even the best in their own series. Link to the Past > Ocarina of Time; MK2 > MK1; FF7, FF6, AND FF9 > FF10. Not one of these games would be on my top ten.
