I played all the doom games, the first time i played it was on my sega 32x which i loved, even the old games had tension and the occasional jump scare all of which the new doom games do not, i dont think they are anything remotely like the originals but thats my own opinion, but each to their own i guess
I have tried it with the difficulty up but its still the same run gun repeat with no real satisfaction or enjoyment
Run, gun, repeat. Doom eternal is one of the most boring games ive played, run around jumping in circles and when you run out of ammo use the chainsaw finish move and if you running low on health use the physical kill move.
The is no atmosphere and no fun.
I really had to force myself to finish the first revamped doom but not doing it again, really would love a return to doom 3 style of game, it had atmosphere a good story and great intros when you first see a new enemy e.g ...

Why limit yourself? Buy both if you can, if not, buy the console you play the most of then pick the other up in a sale or pre owned later down the line, thats what i do.
That way you dont miss out on any of the good games on both systems.

No one backed the DRM or the always online, if they didnt drop it i wouldnt have brought an xbox.
I'm sure I heard that Sony were going the same route but quickly dropped it when they saw the back lash Microsoft got.

I can't remember the last time I worked a 50hr week.

The game is such a bore, ive just downloaded doom 64 and enjoying it so much more.
The new doom is so repetitive with no real objective apart from run gun jump repeat.
I prefer games with a bit more depth, heck even the original dooms had atmosphere and jump scares.
Ive tried to up the difficulty but its still a chore to play.
This is just my opinion, please dont let it put you off buying the game if its the type of game experience you like.
