AAA is to do with money pumped into it and priority on the publisher's schedule. While Adrift has been in development for a while, it's probably been kept a close secret since Sony have come on board.

Was meant to be revealed around 2 years ago. My guess is they've had an issue with publishers, and Sony agreed to it on the basis it became PS3 only.
