Pretty good list, don't agree with Madworld or Brutal Legend, but overall one of the better lists I've seen. Also, interesting that they chose Darkside Chronicles over RE5. Glad to see Ghostbusters getting love after making a number of "disappointments of '09" lists.
Despite the fact that I contributed to the site, this was one of my favorite sites to go to for gaming news. Yes I prefer my Xbox to my Wii (now) but it's still a great system and I still get pumped when good games are released for it (New Super Mario Bros. got more love than MW2 from me, but both are excellent games). I feel like the market is there for a site like this but the majority do just want a site where they can post crap like "Xbox is garbage, it's all over for Nintendo, PS3...
This game is awesome.
Iwata looks like Max Weinberg in that picture.
Lol a pretty good list. Though Mario should have been #1. And Wario should have been on there too.
@ The Lazy One - There's no reason 3rd person conrols wouldn't work on Wii. Walk around with the nunchuk, swing the remote left to right to melee, up and down to curb stomp, press C to zoom in when you need to shoot. B to shoot, A for alternate fire. Really could have been a great experience. It is a good rails shooter, but it's not as great of an experience as it could be.
Making this an on-the-rails shooter really was a terrible move. The original Dead Space was great and this could have made such a good companion piece. If this had been third person it would have been a day one purchase for me; instead I'm going to wait until this gets clearanced 75% off at Target. Shouldn't take long at all the way it is selling. Nice to see another developer blaming the consumer. Because not really marketing the game was a brilliant decision, right EA?
Now I just wish they would beef up the stories in games. There are exceptions, yes, but the word I would use to describe the stories in most videogames is "forgettable."
Man that was a really good read. Say what you will about him or his music but he hit the nail on the head with so many points.
Bioshock and Metal Gear Solid are the only games that truly have memorable stories for me. Those are two of the only games I beat again and again just to experience the story. The new Batman game was great and the story was solid yet when compared to the recent films, comic books and tv shows it does fall a little flat.
I really like the idea about your remote vibrating to signify that your hostage is trying to break free.
Turns out my most played was Brawl... And Mortal Kombat Armageddon got a great deal of love. Its a great port and I would have bought MK vs DC for Wii than 360 but unfortunately it wasn't released on there.
This looks so good, I really hope it lives up to the hype.
Donkey Kong... I've know they've done him this gen, but they haven't done him right. Give us Donkey Kong Country Wii please!
Consumers will decide the value based on the price of the Wii. A lower price to a consumer signifies that Nintendo has devalued their system. Why would I buy a product that the producer feels needs to be devalued? When I bought a Wii the 360 and the PS3 were not even options because they were not offering the same experience as Wii. They still don't. I love that experience from launch at $250 and to this day it is still worth $250 to me. Its unfortunate that Nintendo no longer agrees.
Awesome that this is free. Can't say enough good things about this game.
I agree with you Madusha, I own all the Wii ______ games except for Wii Music. Some are better than others, and some aren't even really games (Wii Fit) but each of them offer something fun. So many good ideas I'd like to see expanded on like archery (Wii Sports Resort), air hockey (Wii Play), and ice sports (Wii Fit). BTW Product how can someone disagree with you wondering how far they will go after seeing the vitality sensor? Do they think you don't really wonder that? lol
A Black Wii remote would look pretty slick.
No.
That's pretty dope. I'd like to see a Smash Bros. mock up.
