Agree with everything you just said I also read the review and it seems a fair score. Still stoked about the game though. The "no control over the grand scheme of things" is the worst parts and is what disappoints me, but I'm sure this is a great game despite that. 8.5 is a great score. If every game got 9 and over, how on earth should we know what to play eh?

It won't be a demo on thursday. The developer has said they are now working on releasing it in europe. Then they might work on a demo after that. Tiki games is a very small company. If I'm not mistaken, only two people work there.

@2.6: It's boring with unlimited ammo. It's much more fun on either hard or crushing without any unlockables used. With unlimited ammo, it's almost a walk in the park, and that aint funny.
Anyway, this is a great game. Played it through five times now, counting before and after the patch. Was fun to get all the medals again, now counting as trophies. Great deal of fun!

This game is going to be so awesome. Wonder what that new online game mode will be. Maybe something to do with your own player. An online league where you play your own player or something like that.

You don't stress test a thing by releasing it. You do it by creating a scenario where you can simulate big user loads. Just releasing it would be bad, because it would probably not work very well, and Sony would have been bashed all over the internet (blogs, news-sites, forums and so on.
Test it first, release it if happy. If not, make changes and then test and then release if happy.
Sony does NOT have a 5 hour long conference. It will be 1.5 to 2 hours like usual. It's a before party and after party for the press and the total amount will be 5 hours. Some rumors die hard I suppose.
