500k is actually a big number. GT isn't COD people buy it for singleplayer probably.
And he said that in few days it will be not 500k but 1mln connection servers. So they can add even more in few days.

Go play online with friends now. It's the best online racer out there even without leaderboards (will be added in december).
I have blast playing with my friends. And Connection protocol is godly. 16 people racing, everybody use head set and it works on my shitty 512 kb/s connection.
I can only compare it in therms of net code to iracing no lags, hit system isn't affected by lag because there is no lag:P
-it have, it depend on your lvl. Ay firs i could crash eeverytime and car would drive same but now i'm 10lvl and car after few minor crashes (still considered hard) won't drive propetly or it will misshift offen.
The more pricy car the more you will pay for damage.
Ibought C63 beznAMG and i just do a 4 minor hits after that cost of repairr was 56k and i paye for car 104k..

Lightfast, no lags etc. And it is only on my 512kb/s shitty connection.
I mean 16 Players in racing everyone have a mic everybody are talking and no lag at all..
I can only compare it with CS or COD4 network Code.

Try :
Arcade Mode, time trial and you must be in view of camera then start it will work.
