In Gears I'm cartoonishly killing an ugly locust nobody cares about. In The last of Us I'm killing a guy who for all we know has his own Ellie to take care of and is basically just trying to survive.
Of the top of my head I can't remember any games where slaughtering another human being has been portrayed so brutally real.
What I'd like to know is, when does that last guy you kill start begging for his life ? and what if you don't kill him ?
