100 years -- 1000 years ?
I can only image that either voice mimicry, or voice emulation via hardware / software, and motion animators, who pour over hours of prexisting footage, will give immortality to the great actors.
I heard Lucas wanted at one point to CG Obi Wan Kenobi with a young digitized Alec Guiness face on top of an actor.
I can only imagine "DIE HARD 28" with a young, cigarette smoking, bloody footed CG replicant of Bruce Willis....
Firmware glitches (or the perception of glitches) will degrade customer satisfaction over time.
The RRoD is a example of this. Lots and lots and lots and lots of Xbox 360 units became defective. Has Jasper chipset fixed this ? We are never sure. It's a serious running problem for Microsoft.
The perception of the RRoD is carried by youtube videos, game site videos and comments. Look at N4G -- it's brought up on almost every single story no matter what the story conten...
Look at the Wii Motion and imagine that as your GPU.
Games on the platform are already managed now, ie your achievements and software updates / patches / DLC.
The Xbox/PS3 will come with a stock GPU unit, and every two years or so, upgrade packs to the GPU will come. The games will be able to detect which "chip" you are running and turn down / turn up effects and resolution modes based on your config.
Games that target the new chip like Gears of Wa...
When does Naughy Dog release the update patch ?
They have a true sci-fi Diablo style game and it is legit.
This game will sell massive, and all the 360-hating in the world cannot stop it.
It will sell 1 Million + I guarantee ++
... and it is sci-fi Diablo. It's addictive. It *will* sell 1 Million + I guarantee.
I know when a game has "the touch" and this one brings "the touch" --- they have captured Diablo and thrown in some crazy-styled Sci-fi that's on par with Mass Effect.
This game will be a massive success and it is a very important title for 360.
I've programmed in DirectX and Visual Studio is a known established product for many years. Microsoft arguably writes the best compilers in the industry. Their XNA starter kits for hobbysts are blow your mind powerful.
Cell has seperate compilers, with a long compiler chain. One targets the PowerPC chip and the other targerts the SPEs (synergistic processing elements).Trying to put together enought content for a 10 hour game + multiplayer assets is monumental as is. Developing w...
I didn't catch this on 360, and if they are throwing in more maps I think I may have to grab the PS3. I love it when they throw in bonus stuff. Like in Skies of Arcadia for the Game Cube.
take it's fledgling steps alongside the industries of television and movies. All the crazy pseudo-journalism, egos, trials and tribulations, campaigns of disinformation, passionate debate and fanboisms.
Whoa, that was deep thought (shakes head).
Teh power of the C3LL ?
How you play B3YOND when you keep playing B3HIND the 360.
Sony Defense Force is suffering from exhaustion -- too many sub-par cross platform releases and the whole 2.4 update fiasco made them work overtime for weeks !
.. and that was quite humorous. Well done. :)
Look, there's alot of love for FF7. There's been many games/movies created due to FF7's success. And would a remake cause a big buzz - sure. Would it sell +1 million , sure.
Would it "own the planet 4 ever including all Xbox ever" - well, no.
Sony kids are too insecure now and are lecturing me about what hardcore is etc. - A game that was played by millions will probably not be bought and played again. (HALO not withstanding LOL) There's too much new IP o...
This is childish one-upmanship and a foolish question. How can a remake of a title from the 1990s be a "HUGE" system seller. I don't understand any of this.
Remakes play strong in the market due their cult status / nostalgia status. But how on earth do you expect a "remake" to make people "ignore, forget, abandon" the upcoming "NEW" Final Fantasy ???!
People like their movies to be new. If I went to see The Dark Knight and it w...
The epic fail of E3 was when Jack talked about the "importance of PS3 exclusives" - this was one day after the MS megaton.
Somebody on N4g the other day called GTA 4 "total garbage" which I thought was completely ridiculous.
After reading the Gamasutra article, I am reminded of how cool the the technology is that goes into building these worlds.
You have to win Japan. This is a stoic truth and it's a huge problem for Microsoft.
This comment about keeping DLC on PC and 360 is really really odd. Most game executives are really diplomatic - "oh yes, the console1 version will look 100% same as console2 etc etc"
I think there's a real story to be found behind this comment. Go go Game Journalists !
I am 360 fanatic and m$ luver -- All I can say in this case is "so sorry" - groan :)
Xbox I guess, is the new Playstation :)
Sir Ken - Slits his belly with his sword.
Dark $niper - Prepares rant about futility of Knight Rider series.
I liked Doom 3 better than Quake 4, if that means anything.
