if you like RPGs then the games actually get better the more it doesn't sell in Japan. If it already sold well, the Microsoft wouldn't have put as much effort into diversifying their games portfolio. I hope it just barely gets better over the coming year so Microsoft still has to work hard to improve it, meaning the possibility of more great games

As far as HD-DVD goes, it wasn't about taking risks, it didn't fit with what they thought was the most important thing, getting out early. they would have had to wait longer, been more expensive, and would not have had nearly as much success
Comparing this game to Planet Earth is like comparing the NES to the PS3, it isn't even close. something like blu-ray is not successful. it may not be the first iteration, most likely it will be, but having seen both changes, I think that the VHS to DVD quality difference was so much greater than the dvd to blu-ray jump it couldn't help but win. Plus, when Blu-ray discs start coming in at 19.99 and 9.99 like DVD went to, it is going to start flying. You just cannot beat HD quality anything in my eyes

I am not attacking you, but to say that the storage limits of the 360 make all games shorter is a bit shortsighted. Any exclusive game is going to use the hardware best, or should at least. But the 360 is not always the limiting factor in development. Most People will NEVER have a pc hooked up to their main television in their living room, keep in mind, if you have one hooked up you are in the MINORITY where as anyone who hooks their Xbox up to live and has netflix can now do this.
