This story has been told QUITE A NUMBER OF TIMES. EA is such a large employer in the industry that it's no surprise that they've been getting their share of disgruntled employee backlash on a routinely basis. The issues always stem around excessive overtime and a heavy hand when employees fall out of line. Sounds like every job I've ever worked at!

With the economy in a recession, or pretty close, a portable xbox seems very risky and highly unlikely. MS doesn't print money, they have to answer to shareholders eventually. Hold out for the MBP v4, it's coming next, most likely with the Air's swanky keyboard and that larger multi-touch trackpad. It doesn't seem likely that the new MBP will be revolutionary in any way, but it should have enough improvements--faster everything with better battery life--to make it an interesting choice for power users.

But they have sunk so much of their resources into trying to live up to the original target renders, I wonder if the rumors are true: that KZ2's development has been a train wreck for the developers. Budgets and deadlines have certainly been overrun. Let's hope it's more than a tech demo!
The deferred rendering/lighting technology is very cool. I'm sure in the next generation of games it will be common practice. This is the real promise of the Cell, to video games...

Resistance2 is something you can count on, a real AAA game. Killzone2 is some kind of crazy train wreck / tech demo, the result of trying to live up to its original target renders at the expense of everything else. I really hope this isn't true, but if one of them is going to dissapoint...
Where are the live in-game videos for this game? Why all the secrecy? Are expectations so unbelievably high that it's simply too risky to release any meaningful promo content that could kill the hype?
