because this is not something free for the sake of giving us something free, this is a compensation for an epic data breach that on top of that took PSN away from us for a month. Stuff like DRM games, MMO subscriptions, credit card info, etc. were compromise due to this event.

the problem with PG games is that they are very short with no replay value and no online multiplayer. It is hard for people to shell out 60 bucks for games they are gonna beat in a day or 2 and then never play them again... These days people doesn't even play single-players anymore, they just go straight to the online MP.
The curious thing is that people doesn't buy online MP only games either! They want games packed with content and let's not forget about the rev...

I always wanted to play The Last Remnant but Square cancelled the PS3 version due to problems in the development with UE3.
the thing is that all of those games were released years ago so it's only that natural that most people already have them. And that's the root of the problem... Old games.
identity theft protection is just for certain regions though... And if most people doesn't have those games then why is that there are so many complaining?
Sony is giving us free games to compensate everybody not some. And there will be no compensation for lots of people that went through the same as you or maybe worse because they had DRM games, MMO subscriptions, credit cards stuck in their account, etc.

FFXIII biggest crime was being merely "mediocre". And yes, FFXIII is sadly one of the best looking games on the console and that was the only thing the game had going for it, pretty graphics.
If the game was called something else I think its meta would have been lower... The same with the sales. The FF franchise has a loyal fan-base that will eat anything as long as it carries the name.
I already have all those games so there is no benefit to me. =/
@Johnny Jiron they can't set the brightness and contrast properly because there are no settings, these are direct-feed screens. The screens we are seeing are directly rendered by the console with the original settings from the source and not the TV. Like for example look at this screen: http://img19.imageshack.us/... That is not a direct-feed, that's a screen-grab from the trailer and the color pale...
these are real screens. The Xbox version of games will always look darker than the PS3 versions because MS ask devs to use higher contrast on their versions because people see higher contrast and think that it looks better. This is the same trick manufacturers use when selling HDTV in the store, they make the TV to output its maximum contrast but then when you bring the TV to your house you need to turn it down because it hurts your eyes. All the scientific references like books, experiments, time-travel theories, etc. that they use in the anime are all real-life stuff. The creation of mini-black holes using nuclear energy, John Titor's fake time travel, you name it...
Then to that add some cool characters,conspiracy theories, good animation and art-style and what we get is one of the best anime of the year.

when we had Square-Soft we had lots of awesome games like FF I-X, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, etc. When we had Enix we had games like Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, Soul Blazer, Actraiser, Grandia, Star Ocean, etc.
Now we have Square-Enix and all we have are a bunch of crappy FF games, a garbage Star Ocean game and other random stuff like Infinite Undiscovery. The Quality just went down the drain. Creativity is non existent... And the merge started well with Kingdom Hearts...
