I've found that Nvidia control panel can fix it (I run two 44 TVs with a sideways 32 between them). Basically able to set any resolution, so change it to what you need.
I want 1080p 60 FPS, or 1440p at 30fps, or at least more graphics options, although first party games have been doing this at a smaller level :) as long as naughty dog is still making games I'll buy a console

Well, it is a console exclusive, but pay to win like this can be seen in WoW too, a PC exclusive. That said, the fan base is more picky on PC so they stand their ground on this stuff better (I'm in both fan bases I'm peaceful I swear!)
I really don't think many people will buy this, but it honestly will make them profit if there are 5 purchases (just throwing a number out there). It costs them nothing to do, but they make straight profit.

For the most part. There are some ridiculous practices like this where you don't need the majority, or even a lot of gamers to buy it to make a lot of profit off of literally no content (that they haven't already bought).
Costs them nothing to do, that's why they're doing it. With content it's a "will enough people buy it to break even and then some?" While this is "this is costing us nothing, and there will still be people who buy it."...

If there's one place for him its beside the console makers, they tend to give more creative freedom (MS included) to developers who choose to be exclusive to them
In the long run it could be good for PSN/XBL, even steam if they attempt to DDoS them too, as they will develop more resilient systems to deal with that. Let's hope they have already and that gamers wont be affected!!

I don't find my regular body to be a problem even being literally average in appearance (and height) for my country, but I see your opinion and can empathize with it. It's a double edged sword of social interaction and attitude expected for gender roles.
