The timing and how the new was delivered is special. PS Vita could use some game announcements and a kick from the Nintendo Direct kind of announcement method. It builds excitement and makes people want to jump on board with the console and brand.
But the timing was great because people were originally complaining that releasing Black 2 and White 2 on the DS was a cop out only to follow it up with X and Y on the 3DS. Nintendo does hype and timing of announcements very well. When I heard of X and Y part of me was like so soon but then I felt that the timing was actually perfect with a release far enough away to allow gamers to enjoy what they have. That is just my thoughts on it all.
Nintendo dropped a big bomb with Pokemon announcement and topped it majorly today. This is something MS and Sony need to emulate. I hope they emulate this sooner rather than later.
Funny part is that everything they are doing is know just not mentioned. Like PS Mobile was announced then nothing was said about it until launch day and even then not much was said or shown about it such as titles.
They have many huge franchises as part of their first party. They also have exclusive (time wise) access to some third party games and DLC such as Battlefield. No I believe the problem is they do not advertise their offerings as well as Microsoft and Nintendo do. Outside of the end life of the Wii, Nintendo is very talented at pushing its consoles like the DS and 3DS.
You would think with the changes to PS+ and the launch of PS Mobile, Sony would be all over the place especi...
That is a problem since people need to be exposed to their products in order for them to move forward and grab the attention of consumers. Marketing is key and decides if a company does well or not. Indie devs truly appreciate the power of marketing and that is why many have begun to use Kickstarter not only for funding but for exposure.
Been tough. I am waiting for Persona 4 Golden but everything I have on it just hasn't captivated me at the moment. I played MGS2 and 3 so many times I need some more time to be in the mood and I Uncharted myself out a bit.
I do look forward to Need for Speed Most Wanted aka Burnout Paradise 2 to get some open world racing on as a change of pace. Also been busy with my 3DS and Theatrhythm FF.
But that will all be changing soon just waiting for Ragnarok Ody...
Some handhelds do. My PSPs always had a knack for collecting the dusts inside themselves near the screen.
I prefer collecting games but handhelds are a weird bunch I tell you.
It will be curious to see how many survive. With the rapidly growing costs of development and the dropping of stock prices for big publishers, the outlook is not good at the moment. More developers are finding ways to make games without a publisher's help. There will be those who survive mostly by staying lean and not biting off more than they can chew. I am curious to see how many publishers will still be around in the next 5 to 10 years.
Haha well played Jason Rubin. Well played. Gotta give him credit with sticking with it until the end. Shame he had a ton to try and clean up but couldn't get it done sadly. Good luck in his and the purple giant's next endeavors.
