They are getting hard to find aren't they. Amazon UK seem to be better at keeping these strays off their pages. I've been tracking Skylander Availability here if it's of any help: http://www.gamepeople.co.uk...

After playing on the Wii, I'll never play a tennis game with sticks again. That is OLD! Has to be motion controlled for moi.

It is a rather awesome game isn't it.

I'm going to stockpile a bunch of Trigger Happys and Chop-chops. May make some good money.

Man I couldn't disagree more. Surely the first thing we should do when playing a game (or reading a book or watching a film) is to bring our emotions.

If games are ever going to grow up we have to move beyond this defensive and juvenile perspective.

How insular hardcore gaming has become. Can no one see how great this is?

Wicked.

Thanks man, you are not wrong!

Just like Boom Blox on the Wii and Tumble on PS3 Move - gesture games are best when they are tailored to the controls. Rather than one-size-fits all like Virtua Tennis 4.

Dang, should have read "but creating an experience that literally wouldn't be possible with either the Wii's MotionPlus or PS3's Move controls."

Thanks god for you, yes!

I liked the way that this article didn't hate or love the game but instead suggested something that games in general still need to learn about.
Critique like this is more likely to move discussions forward that to win or lose a battle of which game is the best, or which console is better.
The writer obviously enjoys these games, but is trying to better understand why that is, and which bits could be better.
Looks like I'm in a minority though. Fare enough.

I think you just proved my point. These are games that tell engage an emotional journey on their own terms, rather than resorting to storytelling like movies and books.

If you read the rest of his column you will see both consistency and intent:

But there is a difference from lazily breaking the grammar rules, and intentionally doing it to create a particular "form" of writing.

5385d ago 0 agree5 disagreeView comment

I see what you are saying. But this is intentional. Also, is a sign of maturity following rules verbatim though? Genuinely interested in what the answer is to this.

Fascinating to see the response here to a grown-up game review. I thought both the style and approach of the review made a good case for the points it makes.

5385d ago 1 agree7 disagreeView comment

The grammatical style is an intentional aspect of the non-establishment nature of the column. It takes some getting used to, granted.

There is only two player on all three platforms when the Wii could handle four players.
