Why is it a "weird" or "odd" failure ?

No , believe me , ive tried EVERYTHING ....it seems to be a pitch issue as it does work for my son and sometimes if I speak in a higher voice (yes I sound like an idiot for trying it and yes this is fanboy bait) it works.....once it wakes up it hears me fine.....pitch and/or acoustics as it in a former garage with high ceilings and tile floors....

"Xbox On" is the ONLY command that I have a problem with, but it strangely works for my 11 year old .....maybe it know its his xbox ?.....but all others work fine, way better than I expected really.....but hell, one guy mumbled at his Kinect so they all suck now and lets put a step ladder right next to the band wagon so its easier to get on...
