I know several German famalies, Nova Scotia is loved by many Germans.
Your statement was rediculous.
There is a difference between those who willingly enrolled with the Nazi party because they actually believed the message was "good", and then those who ended up being forced into the life of a soldier for the Nazi regime.
The Nazi goal was evil, as is that of Al Qaeda and other groups.
Next you'll tell me we should be more considerate for Neo-Nazis and KKK cl...
"isn't it insensitive to label Nazi as evil? "
umm...not really.
But it IS insensitive to label Germans as evil.
again we agree Timesplitter14.
Unfortunately it's often the "stupid" people who make a big scene, especially in regards to more violent video games.
Smart people realize that it's a game, proper parenting is a must, teaching your child history from multiple perspectives is a wise thing to do, and it's part of the past, people and countries have changed greatly.
Stupid people scream at the images and write to their congessman, or call Fox "...
I agree with you in every respect.
However, it's the method in which they work.
They have to tell the soldiers to have "no fear", if they didn't they'd lose every battle.
Civilians often are in the highest groups of casualties in any conflict. People know this when going to war, yet still do.
Religion can usually be used to serve ANY agenda, this goes for all religions and the people they indoctrinate. People select the parts they need to...
It's a good idea in principle, but probably wouldn't float.
It would offend too many people.
The words in the trailer sound like something a general would say to his troops.
I don't see what the big deal is.
The Kotaku kids need to grow up.
EDIT: to the disagreers, in what way would you propose promoting a war game?
War isn't pretty, it's harsh, brutal and unkind. Soldiers are trained not to think or be emotional.
You can't second guess when hesitation can lead to your own death.
Maybe the makers of this trailer were trying...
Kotaku just keeps getting better huh..../sarcasm
Omegasyde, I'd reccommend posting that on the blog (blog.us.playstation.com).
They do read the comments and often respond.
Yeah, it looks like this would be an episode to avoid if you don't have the yearly subscription.
wow, this is so fricken lame.
Wow, great to see the PS3 bouncing back after a very hard month and a half. Maybe LBP does have what it takes to appeal to Japanese gamers. When it released in Japan many sites went batsh!t insane saying the game had flopped...hmm if I recall "like a lead balloon".
These claims were made without knowing how many LBP bundles were sold.
I guess we all know now that LBP has global appeal.
Is it a system seller?
Apparently yes, very very yes.
dro , that is not "shortform", it's laziness.
When you take the milliseconds to type words properly you have a lot to benifit. People actually take what you say seriously. Stop being lazy and write properly bro.
Brace for s#itstorm.
On topic, good read, thx for the post.

Did you guys even read the article?
Care to elaborate on why you approved this crap?
(aside from the obvious laughs you must be getting from the reactions)
You know what I like about this review?. There is no score. Instead there's a reccomendation.
Very well written, and clearly states the games faults and achievements. Critical and well thought out.

I'll be picking Pacific Rift up in the next couple of days. I look forward to the thrill of off-road racing I felt with MS1, motion controls and yes, the frustration that also comes with the game which will push me to become a more skilled play...
I love the level headed view this article presents. It’s very unbiased and clearly looking at the big picture, also it’s to be noted that the costs of the consoles weighing upon sales have been taken into consideration and the overall sales figures for each console in various regions has been thuroughly researched...
oh wait, this article contains nothing like that.
The author himself has stated in the comments that he is enjoying all the adsense revenue this article is generating for him.
Don't click the damn link, the article is rubbish.
I'll repost it in full here:

Is Blu-ray dead? Tech Sites around the Net are calling it a “death spiral” and we’re now looking at the downfall of the winning high definition format. Many non-PS3 Blu-ray players are still in the USD $200.00 range, a bit high for m...
PS3 was lead for Burnout Paradise, Mirrors Edge, UT3, Final Fantasy 13, Dead Space, Skate 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Dark Sector, Devil May Cry 4.
All of theose games that are released run amazingly on both system. Which cannot be said for games that were lead on 360.
PS3 as lead is the SMART thing to do.
If this guys doesn't UNDERSTAND why LBP deserves a decent review, he SHOULDN'T be reviewing games.
At the end of the day, a good reviewer will understand and respect a game/movie/album/etc, for what it does right in it's genre, and where it is innovative.
Like the genre or NOT.
If you don't know enough about the genre (in this case platformers and level building) than maybe yu don't have the toolkit necissary to deliver a good well written review.

LOL! "Johnny Napalm figure beats off Master Chief"
It's "beats out" not "beats off".
Makes for a good laugh though.
