We are so totally on the way to complete immersion in games. I have to say, I can't wait \:D/
When you consider that one company alone lost $200 million @_@
So much to love, so much to hate. Puzzled @_@
Short answer: No.
Oh my word! Super Mario was one of the first games I ever played (back in the days of cartridges and "TV games"). This makes me all nostalgic on a Friday afternoon :'D
Exactly. The TV isn't a baby sitter. But at the same time we have to adapt to the fact that this is the age of social media. We have to find a balance - too much is silly, but if used in the right way, media can be beneficial.
That's the problem :/ no legal precedent for subjectivity (is that a word)?
How do you prove that the game was "crap" though...I mean we know it, but how would you translate into a law?
An interesting read, but in all honesty I don't see why anyone would get excited about anything relating to the Wii, ever.
This is one of the best games I've ever played ever. <3
Age recommendation > Age restriction.
The important thing is that you got to taste the Cola before deciding whether not to buy it, if you get my drift.
Why is it not the onus of developers to provide quality product? I'm not necessarily advocating piracy, but I don't see why consumers should have to quietly accept their lot.
It is doubtful that a poor game would be downloaded; but if people aren't even bothering to take it for free, shouldn't we feel sorry for the people that bought it?
I'm not going to make any admissions that might end up being legally binding; but one could make the argument that if developers gave us games that were worth paying for, most of us would go the honest route and buy them. It's not worth spending money on a product that isn't top quality (in terms of plot/gameplay/graphics/replay value etc) - and a game you're going to play once doesn't meet that criterion.
I am interested to see how this game turns out. It will be quite fascinating to have consequences to decisions that go beyond your character's face becoming ugly when you make evil decisions etc.
Very good read. Gaming gets a bad rap quite often in the media, so it's nice to read about the good it does for you. It's interesting though because sometimes it comes across as though we are presented with the extremes of the gaming spectrum so that people think that's what it's always like. I agree with you James, everything in moderation!
To be honest, both PC and console have pros and cons, be they financial/hardware-related etc. Probably fanboys will get all puffy about this, but I really don't care which I am playing on as long as I am having fun. I don't really see why we have to choose one or the other (although I know this wasn't the actual point of the article).
This looks like a lot of very frustrating fun.
This sounds like a very impressive piece of technology. I'm interested to see what happens when we are able to immerse ourselves completely in games with stuff like this.
Why do they threaten the people? Because it's the internet and "because we can". It's fun to be sensational under the disguise of a twitter nomme de guerre.
