PS Cloud would mean all PS3's can play the whole library of ps1, ps2 games etc over the network - meaning BC not required.
I think PS2 will be removed from sale after Christmas 2009 ($99 price is their final push) and then to help get PS2 owners on board introduce PS Cloud allowing full library of games playable over the PS3 network for a small fee.
And I agree that this would be a great springboard to test first and then move onto providing 'next gen' games over...
So this is news?? a patch to stablise servers - thats all???

It was just a demo, not PS3 (or any other engine running) so the graphics can look like however the game developers want them too.
It is accurate and if implimented in the right way with the right games could be excellent, but I don't want a rip of of Wii mini games for all the family.
I wish he'd just be more straight with us and tell us what he's really thinking lol

100,000 is fairly hefty, with an even larger amount being invited next thursday - This is effectivley the start of the Open Beta they just don't want everyone downloading and accessing at the same time and crashing it.
Well thats the chance they took and as Micosoft or games developmers aren't getting any money from them - then they are no loss to MS.
Personally I haven't had a modded console since the PS1 days - If I had modded my console then I wouldn't have got my RROD fixed and a brand new 12 month warrany for a 2 year old system.

I have both consoles with PS3 being my preffered choice but I think the difference in sales is due to the Piracy of 360 games.
We have already seen Fallout, Gears & Fable on Bit Torrent sites before they even hit the street, and I think this is the difference.
Unless Microsoft can get the Piracy measures in place to stop this then 3rd parties will start moving away (like they have with the PC) cos if the pirates are making money - they are not!!!
I am in the UK and have the 60GB - and I downloaded 2.5 FW this morning no problems.

Well I've been a PS3 owner from day 1 but have been thinking about getting a X360 too, not for online or anything (I'll use my Free online on my PS3) but there are some good games like Fable 2 & Gears 2 coming out - so under £100 is very very tempting - but with so many great games out this month - I'd need to sacrafice a few - Oh what to do????
But I think you'll find (looks up) he said xbox exclusive - not microsoft exclusive.
All Microsoft have done is give me an reason not to buy an xbox cos any 'exclusive' I can play on my PC.
It is not Xbox exclusive - like most Xbox 'exclusives' it's also coming to PC.
