Look at where this is going to while they are still using the RED LASER technology. I could see them buying or joining NME Inc. in the next couple of months to adopt the HD-VMD format.

The movie studios will not have to adopt this format cause they are already using red laser technolgy so it will be easy for the studios to tell the public that HD-VMD will replace standard DVD as a low cost alternative. The price of them will drop very fast in order for them to compete with Blu-Ray (which will have most of the market) but this format can survive if it markets right (unlike HD-DVD) and it "WILL" survive if it gets Nintendo and Microsoft to adopt its format for their...

If you have been around the last year you would have known that the HD-DVD technology is a whole lot cheaper than Blu-Ray (and I said a HD-DVD drive not a Blu-Ray so please read). Even if Microsoft would have came out with the premium system for around $499 on release date I am pretty sure it would have done very well since it was the holiday season and it was the newest HD technology. I was at Gamestop last week speaking to reps from Microsoft and Nintendo and they stated that this company was in talks with the two to use this technology in their Next Gen platforms. I came home and looked up this company and now I see this. They also said that this company is trying to get deals with Dreamworks, Lions Gate Ent., Artisan Home Ent., and probably MGM Home Video. If this happens and they keep these DVD's under the price of what standard DVD are going for(19.99) opposed to what...

I was at Gamestop yesterday talking to reps from Microsoft and Nintendo and they both told me that they will not use Blu-Ray on their NEXT GEN platform. They are both in contact with some company that uses some other HD format (HD-VMD) and I have never heard of it till yesterday on the web after I googled it. They also said that Dreamworks, Artisan Home Ent., and Lions Gate Home Ent. are all in the talks with this company (NME Inc.). After reading what was stated on how this HD format works I...

I work at Gamestop and I will be the 1st to say that we still have 60g PS3's available. I have been wanting an Elite just because I had a Premium and I sold my Premium only to know that on my day off the only Elite in the store was sold and I havn't seen another one yet. I had to settle for a PS3 and it was not what I expected. I had all the attachments on the 360 (ie..HD-DVD Drive) and I know I spent extra but I didn't have to do it at once. I had all the recent blockbusters except Mass Effe...
