The movie studios will not have to adopt this format cause they are already using red laser technolgy so it will be easy for the studios to tell the public that HD-VMD will replace standard DVD as a low cost alternative. If you have been around the last year you would have known that the HD-DVD technology is a whole lot cheaper than Blu-Ray (and I said a HD-DVD drive not a Blu-Ray so please read).
