No one in the comments mentioned the Destiny Beta for PS4... It drops in 12 days on July 17th... and who knows how long we'll be able to play it for.
You get it if you pre-order it.. but I heard rumors that maybe all PS+ users will get access.
I was so depressed and didn't want to play any games when the Alpha ended..
but seriously there is plenty to play this summer.

it breaks it down super crazy... time of day, day of week, Ranks A-E on game completion, how many trophies per month.. stuff like that.
to an extent... When they first showed up I didn't really pay them any attention..
However, now hearing the little ding on PS3/PS4 gives me a little smile.
Also I use it as an indicator sometimes... I mean if I beat a game and get every trophy/Platinum than I consider that game 100% complete and I believe I got my money out of it.
It changes game to game. Some games I know have trophies I'll never complete.. Some trophies are so long ...

I have been having a hard time playing anything else since the Alpha ended.
I'm so ready for Destiny, it was refreshing. And the dude above talking about the PvP, you gotta remember it was only one match type. I didn't find it stale or lackluster. If you didn't play it right and capture/fight for the points than I can see how it could be lackluster. Seemed to focus on teamwork more. You can't just go off and do your own thing.

While the Alpha did run relatively smooth. I did get disconnected quite often with some error message. It always dropped out when things were just getting good. Took me like 4 times before I actually got to the end of the Strike without getting bumped off.
granted it was Alpha stage and they were doing work on one of the days to improve it.
But yeah it was 10x better than the standard for day 1 releases with MP or what we have been getting from companies in ...
I'm liking Watch_Dogs from what I played.. It's kind of redundant and the online gets in the way if you don't turn it off. You can barely walk without getting invaded. The trophy list doesn't seem that bad. Typical type of stuff from a sandbox game. Always guaranteed to have a "follow the leader" mission.
Meaning they preach this openness and the ability for the player to do whatever they want... But give you a mission that requires you to follow som...
this game looks so intriguing.. the whole enemy idea. I can't wait.. first time in awhile since a LOTR game has had me interested

Halo is going to be compared regardless because the company making Destiny is the same company that made Halo.
However Destiny itself is like Halo/Mass Effect/Borderlands/PlayStation Home-(the social aspect/interaction)..... all combined into one
not downplaying Halo in anyway

I understand the Halo in the game.. that makes sense... but from the alpha alone... this is SOOOO much more than Halo is.
Evolve probably will be overshadowed by the masses. Hopefully not though..
It releases same day as BF: Hardline... anyone with sense would get Evolve, but history/consumer ignorance says BF: Hardline will outsell it.

it's either 8/9/14 or 9/8/14
because the first Metal Gear game was in 1987 and 2014 wouldn't be the 30th year anniversary, 2017 would be.
so I think the 1984 is seriously a mix up of the actual release date scheduled for this year.
I loved it.
It was just enough to let you grasp the idea.
Some of the vendors are different like the Dead Orbit and New Monarch and the IFL.. I have no idea how you rank up their levels yet.
and the crucible ranks you earn. and the crucible marks you can only get 100 a week. so when you spend them on stuff you have to pick and choose wisely.
but I did find an easy way rather than playing matches all the time... just go to one...
Destiny is a PlayStation exclusive in Japan... so this makes perfect sense
