They are.
I just downloaded it on my Galaxy S3.
The only thing the Vita crushed was the dreams of Sony fanboys who believed it would destroy the 3DS. Enjoy your cheap indie games, guys. I'm playing Monster Hunter on my 3DS.
Reggie is right.
Exhibit one - Wii had less specs than the PS3/360, outsold them.
Exhibit two - DS had less specs than the PSP, outsold it by 70 million.
Exhibit three - 3DS had less specs than the Vita, outsold it by 20 million.
It's all about the games.
Nintendo are already a software giant.
Any other console, selling 20m copies of one game would make you the best selling software - on the Wii, 20m wouldn't even be enough to even get you into the top 5.
Yep, and then there's the case of the Vita VS the 3DS.....
And the PSP VS the DS....
Call of Duty: Ghosts is almost certainly coming to Wii U.
You'll still get the exact same presents, but without the boring bits - game devs trying to be funny and failing, endless pie charts.....
99% of people never go to E3 and will watch it on a video stream. This year, the only difference is you'll be watching a Nintendo Direct on the video stream instead.
They don't need E3.
In this day and age, Nintendo could unveil a new game to three people in the middle of a desert. News and pictures of the event would still be on the internet within an hour.
Or to put in another way, if E3 was "so" important, why did both Sony and Microsoft choose to show off their new consoles beforehand?
Exactly.
Also, I find it odd that gamers are moaning about Nintendo abandoning the gimmicks, focusing on the gamer, and ignoring the causal audience.
Surely, that's what people have wanted for years?
Nintendo still have stuff to show.
They'll just be showing them at Nintendo Direct without all the boring pie charts we normally have to sit through.
Look at last year, did the fact they didn't show a console redesign on stage mean they weren't making one? No, the 3DS XL appeared in a Direct 2 weeks later.
Yep. Look at all the Vita excuses.
"LOL! It's totally gonna beat the flop that is the 3DS" - It didn't.
"Of course it flopped in Japan, it was designed for Western gamers!" - It flopped over here too.
"Wait till E3 2012!" - They didn't reveal anything.
"COD will be a system seller!" - 30% Metacritic.
"Wait till a price drop!" - Price drop arrived in Japan, after a few weeks, system...
This is normal.
Expensive new console with few games sells less than an old console with many games.
PS2 outsold the PS3 at first
DS outsold the 3DS at first
PSP outsold the Vita at first
Exactly.
Nintendo's Direct this E3 will focus on the games, without any additional gimmicky stuff like Usher coming on stage, or Reggie stumbling over his lines.
Focusing solely on gamers, avoiding the gimmicks and ignoring the casual audience is what everyone has been demanding from Nintendo for years.
Yet, when they finally do it, people still complain.
So, in other words, this E3, Nintendo are catering to the core, ignoring the casuals, focusing on games, and getting rid of gimmicks - everything people have been moaning about for years - and somehow that's a bad thing?
The very fact you're aware of Iwata staring at bananas despite never watching a Direct shows that the information gets out.
$100 proprietary memory cards are a good thing!
They still will bring it. The games we were excited for them to reveal - Smash Bros and such - will still be revealed at the same time. As someone that doesn't attend E3, the only difference will be that I have to tune in to a different stream.
Of course they want money. That's why Mon Hun is on a successful system like the 3DS.
Exactly. This has been a long time coming. Look at how they unveiled the 3DS XL - two weeks after E3 in a Direct.
Nintendo has embraced the online age while the other two companies are partying like it's 1995. E3 is now last gen.
PS4 last gen confirmed.
It's not powerful enough to run the compute shaders.
