They have been misinforming people about PlayStation from the get go, why would you think anything has changed?
The very first thing John says is the same misinformation about Tempest that they have been spreading since the start which is that Tempest only works on headphones, Tempest from day one has worked on 7.1 and 5,1.

If you don't want it don't buy it, but don't tell other people who do want it they can't have it.
I had a launch PS4 the whole gen and the Pro never had any negative impact on me. If people want to buy a Pro let them, there is plenty of room for more power to get more games closer to 4k 60 stable.
