i know how it feels, my ps3 also broke in july 08, stopped reading discs, sony's service was great, didn't have any problems, and they gave it back the day they said, they had shipping problems, so i was lucky i didn't have to wait another 3 weeks, i just really hope my new one doesn't bail on me, really love it.
i am just saying, that people need to read specs and look at the games, before buying a console, almost all of my friends who had the wii, sold theirs and bought a ps3, and they are enjoying (as far as i know, lol) it, so i think that nintendo doesn't have anything to do with it, they just made a console that everyone likes, they don't have great games, the online could be alot better, (no ethernet port, only wifi), and the controls of most games are mediocre, i had bought a wii at launch and...

i am getting really pissed off, the wii is a console for kids, parents, and maybe older people, and that's why it sells so many consoles, this doesn't mean it will crush ps3 and 360, it just beats them with the sales, it's just like shadow flare said, having toyota and ferrari a perfect example, the toyota is cheaper, but the ferarri is way more powerful, the same is with the consoles, a lot of grownups and elder people don't realize that the wii isn't capable of doing games like gears of war...
i just played the demo of fear 2, and i think part 1 feels a bit scarier, darker, and bloodier, i will read the reviews first.
yeah we do, at least i do, and the most gamers will agree with me, why? because everything is so much sharper and more detailed, and also...there can be more icons on the screen if it's HD, console owners will know what i am talking about ;)
i will also play it on normal for the first time, i did easy a long time ago on every game, i didn't really enjoy the game, i want a bit of challenge :P .

it's a ps3 exclusive, so that means it's already one of the best games out there, lol
as long it has crap graphics, i won't buy it, that's the mistake i made, when i bought the wii, i thought i bought a next-gen console, but no, it's just a console with the same gamecube graphics, but with a "cool" remote, and motion sensing, actually nothing new.
my opinion:
i used to collect achievements first, but since my 360 had a lot of issues, i moved to ps3, and now with the trophies, it's a bit different, because it has a level system, which the 360 doesn't have, but on the other hand, 360 has more games that support achievements, so i really can't pick, but if (later) every game will have trophies, then i will go for the trophies, and not achievements.
the ps3 will (of course) gain ground, like it did from the beginning, and it will go like this for another couple of years!
to xbox fanboys: buy a console that doesn't need a repair every month, and that doesn't sound like a friggin vacuum cleaner!

both consoles did great only half of the 360 exclusives are games that i really don't know.
people, people, just calm down, they both have issues (no offence against fanboys), they still have 2-3 months, until march or something like that, a lot of things can happen in that period, did you look at motorstorm 1 ? i know you can't compare it to re5, but in the last 2 months the game's quality gained from damn low to pretty good, i think this is the same case, when re5 is released they will look identical.
cod5 is also not hard at all, the only hard thing is (just like uncharted on crushing mode) is the veteran mode, which is really hard and really annoying, but al the other trophies for cod5 are really easy.

look at killzone 2, the game looks f*cking amazing, and it only 60% of the ps3 power, do you really that uncharted 2, which doesn't look much better than kz2 (can't imagine) WILL use the full 100% ?

home will be amazing one day, i hate people who are saying that home is an epic fail, remember people it's a beta, not the full version, and that's why there's not much content. patience, just patience, and this will turn out good, trust me.

the only thing i have to say is that it's pretty obvious that xbl has more features and stuff, since it requires payment, and if psn was better and had more features, then why should people still pay for xbl?
btw, i don't really care which one is better, the only thing i want is a good gaming eperience and that i get what i pay for, nuff said.
