Face it. CoD, Assassin's Creed, NBA, Madden, Fifa, Battlefield, GTA and few other are the multi million seller you see on PS and Xbox.

If the Switch couldn't run it. Dragon Quest XI wouldnt had been announced after the 3DS and PS4 version. Especially after the fact that at the same time before it was confirmed the PS4 version was running on Unreal Engine 4.
One is coming in a few month while the other is at the end of the year possibly even delayed into next year if they don't have enough games to showcase if the upgrade is big enough for those who want to.

Actually Sony hasn't been running anything in Japan for years. They just had their first 1 million seller retail wise in Japan since 2004 and it was a Microsoft IP(Minecraft) before it was bought by them.
Plus Japanese Third Party sales on PS system has been all time low besides Persona, Metal Gear Solid, Dark Souls, Dragon Quest spinoff and Final Fantasy.
Actually it matter in the west as well. Nintendo system does well with Japanese games worldwide because it's the majority of the content you get.
The new 3DS xl is the version people are buying in Japan. 18,800 Yen.
If the Switch is around 22,000-27,000 yen at launch in Japan. People are going to buy it.
