As well as this review was written (and it was Vlad, so great job), I completely disagree with everything he says except for the part on the combat. The combat was great. But how can you say it isn't an RPG? That screams for attention. There are choices all throughout the game, leveling up skill options, armor and weapon customization, and different classes to play as. That is exactly what an RPG is. I can't help but disagree with your comments about the "voicework". For the most part it was very well done. The biggest problem was the lip sync.
After seeing your score, I immediately was like woah I totally disagree. Then I read your full review. And it seems like you have many of the same ideas/feelings I had about the game, but you just scored it differently.
I disagree that it felt like it was lacking however. I think a short action RPG is a breath of fresh air.

Awesome review. It was really well written. However, I do disagree with you when you say "Sadly, the game’s combat system is static, dull and often downright frustrating." I found it to be extremely fun and ever-changing because of the differing enemies. You always had to change your strategy with each encounter which kept me on my toes. Maybe it was frustrating because you didn't adapt well enough and died too often? I am not sure exactly, but maybe this sort of strategy ...
Agreed. The combat is way better than some of these people give it credit for. =)
I totally agree. I knew all along that Spiders was a very small developer. I never expected a Skyrim-like game. And because of that, I think I enjoyed the game immensely for it.
I gave it a high score, but not because I want more hits. I had the game ahead of release date and before the embargo was lifted, so I had no idea that it would get such vastly different scores. I scored it high because I loved the game. Here is mine: http://n4g.com/news/1505405...
"Combat is also pretty basic--a typical hack and slash with other options" - I completely disagree with this. The combat system is full of strategy, which makes it far from basic. It was fun and challenging.

Yeah I have noticed. Though, based on everywhere I have posted my review, the majority of normal gamers agree with me. It is only the major publications and the random people who never agree with anyone who are saying it is bad.
That is precisely what I have been trying to tell people on boards/chats elsewhere. It is not Skyrim. You have to think about what you are doing in order to survive.
