So Activision aren't just screwing consumers, they're also screwing retailers aswell.

Halo 1 and 2 were brilliant for reasons people have already mentioned, but 3 was really dissapointing (apart from the custom games thing which rocks).
I actually liked the Arbiter from 2. He gave the story more depth which 3 missed out on. And he wasn't a stupid faceless character with no story or personality (i.e. Master Cheif). During Halo 2's final boss fight you really wanted him to win and get revenge.
Everyone needs to calm down a bit including me.
At least the "Modern Warfare 2" bit is in big letters and Call of Duty is sort of like a pre-title.
