That's a fair argument, but it was the universe which Bioware created in Mass Effect that made it an easy decision for me. Even if the ending of ME3 wasn't liked by some/many, the game was atmospheric and played well. The side missions alone help to make up for any missteps in the main story. Actually, I play all types of games... I have some 400 - 500 games across platform this generation and I still own my original 2600 (that's how far I go back). But you are correct, I missed Dirt. It was on my handwritten list and will be put on the actual list higher than K&L when I get some time.
That said, I really enjoyed K&L and think that it is one of the most underrated series this gen. I'll admit, there's some filler on the list, but I started with...
