And you didn't have to fork out 200 bucks just so your chicken has fresh eggs to eat.
Missed Ace Combat on Xbox, though I'm not sure if that would have bent the list in Microsofts favour.
While I appreciate the effort and happily admit I enjoyed the read, this is probably the worst list I've ever seen on N4G. Where's KZ3? UC3? The Last Guardian?
I hope they rectify the way characters "slide" over the terrain when running sideways as well. That animation looked cheap as hell. Make their hips turn or something, whatever, just make sure they don't look like ice skaters.
If true, let's hope some of the old COD4 game mechanics return. No COD installment since has matched it's FPS perfection through simplicity.
Describing this map as the worst map in FPS history is pretty damn accurate. However, because the map resembles the 1998 film, Pleasantville, people think it's fantastic.
It's not. It's fucking retarded.
"Quite easily the best game in the franchise, Guns of the Patriots is a pinnacle of storytelling, drama and action in a video game."
I know it's nothing more than opinion, but MGS3 was the best game in the series. Any die hard Metal Gear fan will tell you that (or maybe they'll settle for MGS1).
Can't agree with number one. Any kind of beard promotion, be it in a video game or no is a positive.
Is there any reason why this list needs to spread out over 31 goddamn pages? I can understand people trying to get extra hits, but fuck.
Great article. Entertaining and a nice idea.
One of the better articles I've read on this site.
Video games are not the problem, they have a right to be as graphic and realistic as movies and books - the problem is the policing and enforcement of ratings, to prevent young children getting their hands on them.
We don't seem to have any trouble preventing kids from watching graphic movies (most of the time), so why do we have so much difficulty in doing the same thing with video games?
Multiplayer is always going to be the more addictive component of a video game - killing AI enemies simply cannot be compared to the satisfaction that comes with knowing you've killed/beaten another human being, even if they're oceans away.
Single player games with imaginative, compelling storylines will always have a place in our gaming libraries, but I think in terms of longevity, multiplayer games are always going to have the upper hand.
I'd be more than happy not to see any involvement from Snake, regardless of how much I love his character. Let him go down as the gaming legend we've all grown to admire over the years.
MAG was (and I guess still is) a captivating online experience. It's such a shame that it was released in an era dominated by FPS's such as Call of Duty, as a lot of people refused to come out of their comfort zone and give the game a genuine chance.
The last thing I disected was a frog in high school science. Looking forward to this one, regardless of what the critics have to say before release.
Metal Gear? You've got to be kidding. Every single mainstream MG console release has been nothing short of amazing. Admittedly, a few of the more recent titles released for handheld devices probably weren't neccessary, but there's no way they detract from the epicness of the first 3/4 games released for the Playstation.
You left Guitar Hero off the list - rookie error right there.
You can nitpick all you want, but at the end of the day, both services are pretty much the same. The only difference is PS3 gamers get theirs for free. If someone offered me two identical pies, one for $4 and one for free, I know which one I'm taking.
Comparing this game to Madden just shows how much of an uneducated gamer the author really is. He has reached so many unjustified conclusions about the game based on, dare I say it, a DEMO.
NBA 2K11 is by far a better sporting simulation that any Madden title released on an eighth generation console, and most of the feedback I've received (apart from the fact it is stripped down) has been outrageously positive.
Can't wait for the full release.
Maybe I exaggerated, as there have obviously been a few changes, but leaps and bounds ahead of 2007? Sorry, I can't agree with that.
I didn't have any preconceptions going into Madden 11. I was secretly hoping and praying that the game would blow me away, as I've really missed the NFL gaming experience over the past few seasons.
As a sports fan and gaming fan, I'm trying to see the larger scope. Exclusivity has been very damaging to the progre...
Re-read the article again. It says that owning both consoles is pretty much the same if you don't PC game, but if you do then the PS3 has more exclusives.
The article also starts with "Any gamer will agree that it’s the quality of the titles on a platform, not the sales or features of the platform itself, that determine how awesome it is" so popularity doesn't mean anything. Ico the PS2 game sold terribly but it's often considered to be one of the best t...
