A fantastic game opened the market lol. They released two OUTSTANDING betas and let people try the game. They let people win prizes for beating the demos. They killed it with the marketing.
Yeah the word of mouth and reviews helped but the word of mouth wouldn't have existed without the betas and a fun game. Take some credit, a textbook launch done well imo.
