I usually don't pay review averages any mind in choosing games. But the real high end of the scale do for the most part equal a grerat game.
Personally, the greatest game ever made is still Secret Of mana by square on the SNES. That was such an incredible game and has stayed with me ever since I played it first time. I also prefer Link To The past to Ocarina. Showing my age!
The modern console era (3d)? For me FFVII, GTA Vice City ...

And ROB HUBBARD's C<64 music (look him up on Wiki young guns) was the greatest music ever. As technology got better most video game music got worse.

As for JRPG, they BLOW away western RPG's and that's a fact. It's fantasy, age is not an issue if a story is great. Hell, Legend of Zelda link to the past on the SNES is still possibly the greatest rpg I ever played and some people may say "Oh , that's for kids..."

I have a love hate thing with it myself. I love the game, but I agree that peer hosted online gaming (ala xbox live) were you don't choose were the fvck you're playing sucks balls.
I like Warhawk were you can see a list of servers that have filters such as ping, maps, game etc...

I think even changing (lowering) graphic detail in a PC FPS, and turning off dynamic lights etc could be called cheating.Even Changing FOV etc...
It's NOT a level playing field.
But hey, everyones doing it. I do it too. But I would never use 'hacks' like aim bots or wall hacks etc.
How about the terrible sound distortion? I'm not the only one noticing this, I read many people's posts on the Epic forums about it.

This fkng proves it! I watched the kill cam 3 times and each time he was tracking me (through a wall) with his crosshair. And I was crouching so no footsteps. :(
