I've seen some interesting stuff so far though many people have just done 2d versions of levels of other games like this one. i was thinking about getting a ps3 for this to do quick protoyping for my xna game. i think a lot of lbp players will graduate to xna after this if the want to extend their creativity beyond mario style box platformers. This game is a good start point for casual gamers that want to try their hand at game design.

The big problem with sega is that they are spreading themselves to thin and cutting way too many corners in development. why... cause they have very little money to take risks with. i worked as a tester at sega and believe me the things they have let go out on release you'd be shocked. sega can't afford games to over run their deadlines. if they were bought out not only would they be tied to one hardware which would already improve quality and allow more space for gameplay development they'd ...
sega have no money to fund most of their developments so they cut corners to save money. many people thought their merger with sammy would give them a bit more financial muscle but sammy just bought them for the brand name to further their own stuff (slot machines) sega needs this buyout they'd be able to focus on making quality games with out having to compromise their developments plus they would once again be tied to one machine.
Microsoft gave the xbox division 2 billon to help expand the games sector so at sega's current market state that more than covers it so its not impossible for it to happen. plus they'd gain a massive depth in ip from casual through to hardcore. the reason why sega makes so much crap games is cause there being cheap in development cutting corners etc.

This game looks and seems like... a reinvention of a dreamcast sega game called out trigger. not a bad thing i kind of liked out trigger.
all i'm saying is the jump between forza and forza 2 is massive the same can not be said for gt. yes forza may not have happen without gt but a lot of things that all gt fans have been crying out for have been put off till gt5 where as forza came with it in number 2. if turn 10 where to keep up this kind of evolution who knows what no.5 would be like may even become from runner instead of gt anythings possible. till gt has the crwon.
i'm a 360 fan and i can't deny how amazing gt5 looks. but but when you think about it gt5 took 5 editions to get where it is in terms of graphics and gameplay. forza is only in its 2 edition and its already got the trump card on gt5 in terms of gameplay physics custom cars etc...yes its destroyed in term of graphics though by gt5, but you have to think, what will forza be like when it gets to its 5 edition if they keep pulling out the stops like that. so which game has the better groth potent...
Backgrounds look no better than a ps2 game. Well you know where all the polys and effects went... to put it simple focus all the system resources on simulation you get forza. Focus everything on graphics you get GT5. Go for a balance you get PGR4. GT is kind of always been in this void caught between sim and arcade. So technically it’s a master of nothing... jack of all trades.

Cars look amazing, backgrounds look RUBBISH!!! this is coming from a industry CG artist. you don't have to be a bias fanboy to realise this.
thats how it runs at 1080p and 200,000 poly cars and no damage model. if the back grounds were as detailed as the cars no way would the cars have that many polys or be running at 1080p native at 60 fps. Still more impressed with pgr4 for how much is going on screen plus effects.
You can't compare xenon and CELL. xenon is designed to handle game related code nothing else and CELL is a Souped up general perpose CPU. the defference is xenon is a monster when it comes to game code. anything else its rubbish about as good as a pentium 2 its probably one of the reasons why 360 is coders dream come true. If poly dig made this game on any other hard where like the 360 for instance this game would look exactly the same......why coz they no exactly how to light cars PROPERLY!!!! FORZA GUYS DONT.....not yet anyway...thats the only thing that separates the to games in my opinion.
the problem is forza is lit based on exact lighting physics and gt is a artist a perception when u remember or see something its based on interpretation. even film vfx are lit in the same its render using 10000 cpu...

This game will change ALOT!!! in the final stages. in early stages of development everything you'll get to see is running in lower quality its easier to work that way. the game already has better AA than the ps3 version. i've seen this happen so many times as a game tester. final code can look almost 50% better than the beta code of a couple of week before release. microsoft should release an update for panzer dragoon orta and jet set radio future. Orta would look amazing in HD all upscaled.
games development cost are so steep thanks to sony that a game can't stay exclusive. multi plat games have shown you need double the team size and money to make the same game on ps3 than on 360. capcom had to change konami will soon with mgs4 and square have done the same. if the ps3 was easy to code for and as cheap to develop for, the 360 would of been crushed a year ago. and sony would still have every game they had exclusive cause there would be no need to balance finance with cheaper 360...
