I hate when people say "just keep your old ps3 to do*fill in the blank here" no we shouldn't just keep our old system for things like this. Whats the point of next gen if your stripping away features your old console had before? thats such a poor solution to something when your spending a decent amount of cash.
Yea I think it's a mistake. That and the lack of Mp3 coding is ridiculous. One of the big things I was looking forward to next gen was being able to play games while listening to my personal music. Now the only way to do this is behind a paywall...
It's not just because of the lack of mp3 and DLNA support, its also the fact that you can't share via youtube( the share button seems useless now for me because I don't wanna share things on Facebook.), the features such as resume and play isn't at launch, the taking control and helping your friend feature isn't at launch etc. All these little things that should have been in the console day 1 are being patched or removed from the console. I was getting ps4 at launch, but now I think it's best that I wait a while. These past few weeks just made it difficult to actually buy one day1 . If I'm buying a console I expect all the features that was talked about in the months leading up to launch (except Gaikai because they told us from the get go that it would not be out at launch) to be there. I shouldn't have to wait months to get mp3 support, to get resume support or even take control of my friends game support.
This only gives me a glimpse of what to expect with gaikai. Sigh this is annoying
I'm not canceling any pre order, however I will not be buying my system at launch. I knew that as the days got closer to launch, we would start seeing the negatives of the systems. Since February, everything has been way to good to be true.

If you watched the Gameplay video for MGS5 you'll notice that the regenerating system in the game is different then previous installments. I agree with your comment about MGS games had a great regenerating he alt system but the difference is MGS5 has a call of duty/gears of war/ (insert any other FPS game here) system where the screen turns red each time you get hit and gradually goes back to normal when you are not getting hit while previous MGS games has a semi regenerating health syste...
Can't you just let the patch update in the background while your checking out the interface or playing a game? This is what I am most excited for the ability to just not have to worry about patches anymore
A little off topic but: I was walking into gamestop to ask them if they were selling DS4 controllers, the guy said yes we are. At that moment I was in a huge dilemma. Should I purchase the new DS4 now or should I wait until the colored controllers come out? This seems like a problem to myself and maybe others because these features shouldn't be "patched" into the system, it should already be set installed into the system out of the box. Now I'm not gonna sit here and say I know a lot about system software updates and what not so I don't really know if this is usually done however, I would of thought features such as resuming your game after standby mode would be developed onto the system and not a patch.
