For some reason, I believe that MGS1 will be remade using this engine for the 25th MGS anniversery and that it will go multiplatform.
I actually own all the MGS games (1-4 + PW) on disc, and I've pre-ordered my HD collection for the PS3. However, Im going to pre-order this too as a collectors item and NEVER open it! I mean common, its limited edition. :D

My first game was lagging really bad, REALLY BAD. Then it froze my ps3. Went into the beta again and the error message came up, waited around till it was working again and the second game I had...well for the first minute it was perfect...I died and my ps3 froze again. Ill wait till tomorrow to try it out again now...This sucks balls :'(

Being honest, the best announcement for X360 which wasnt even announced at E3, was the MGS HD collection coming to X360 announced at Konami's Pre-E3 conference. MGS coming to X360 turned alot of heads, especially MGS3 and Peace Walker. I mean those only with a X360 can finally become a part of the MGS universe, doesnt get better than that. My 2 cents.
Damn Microsoft's E3 was so bad this year...I mean all they had was Halo 4 really and even that got leaked before the conference. Most of it was kinect based/kiddy games. What a waste.

Sorta makes sense they didnt add MGS1 though, couldnt HD the PSX title, didnt include Twin snakes as Silicon Knights I think have some rights...and they didnt bother remaking it using the MGS4 engine...Too much effort they probably thought. I stopped playing at Smackdown : Shut your mouth...That for me, was the best WWE game. After that, although I did play em...I didnt like Taste the pain or any of the Smackdown Vs Raw series...It just didnt play well with me as well as Shut your mouth did.
