Being the father of 3 kids, we do buy a lot of stuff on eShop but clearly my wife doesn't how to use it so it is always me doing it. Same for the 3DS.
I only own a Wii U so that's definitely a game to have for me.
Ubisoft, just give the Wii U one exclusivity (even 6 months) for a great game designed to use the full power of the hardware as well as the gamepad and you will have an answer.
Wii U owners will buy the game, and surely those who own 2 consoles will get the Wii U version first.
The trend for the last few months shows Wii u selling more than X1. Second largest base as of today, and Smash Bros, Zelda etc still coming up. Ubisoft is just hiding behind plain numbers.
If analysts and economists were at least 10% accurate, we would know by now.
They follow patterns that don't include factors like taste, emotion, passion etc.
These guys make me laugh every time.
Where were Sony and Microsoft when Nintendo was making games 30 years ago?
You must be very young to make this assessment.
Serious gamer? What does it mean?
Nintendo makes platform games, strategic games, racing games, FPS games, family games: FUN, high-quality, long-life games.
It is what a gamer needs and asks for.
Maybe a 2 players game?
Well, it does sell less than the Wii but compared to past hardwares, it might just sell as much in the end.
I believe Nintendo was not expecting to sell as many systems as the Wii. Maybe the pace is slower than expected but with the upcoming games (MK8, Bayonetta2, X, H Warrior, Smash Bro and so on), it does have strong EXCLUSIVES in the pipe. Once most so-called critics stop bashing it, then people will start seeing that it isn't a bad system at all.
Moreover, being a gro...
No, the 2DS is not sold in Japan. They are checking if selling it will be profitable in the future. Too bad as my second son wants his own 3DS but I would rather buy the 2DS (cheaper and doesn't need the 3D)
Yep, Abenomics! Japan is back to a strong economy.
I am definitely gonna get this one on my Wii U.
If you go to the Japanese website, the message from the President is different from the joke one. Clear April Fools. One sentence in Japanese is even not ended properly.
That's what I meant in my post earlier about Japan.
Wifes, mums will buy QOL products, kids will sneak into it and asks for Nintendo games too.
I don't know about US and Europe coz I live in Japan but here, there will be a huge demand for QOL.
Japanese, and women in general are always interested in things related to health, fitness, body-shaping etc.
And since wifes and single ladies in Japan have the money to buy, that is a big consumer pool for Nintendo. And as most of the games on Wii U, 3DS can be played by children too, it is gonna be two birds with one stone.
Just my thought...
A great Pokémon game on Wii U would definitely boost both Hardware and Software sales everywhere.
It sold a bit better during Xmas because they just launched their bundle with Wii Party U and Super Mario Wii U, plus accessories for a nice price (got one for me and the kids).
I am really not sure about limited supplies since every shop I went recently had the PS4 available in Tokyo. Bic Camera, Toys R Us, Yodobashi at least have stocks.
More than apparently poor sales, the bad press and inaccurate news regarding the Wii U is to blame.
Would Sony have sold 5.6M PS4 with the same bashing Nintendo is enduring?
And 5.6M units sold is not as good as expected but still a decent number considering everything.
Give Wii U a polished soccer, RPG game and I am sure 1M+ games will be sold.
I totally agree with you. 2 things will sell out more Wii U:
1- a Pokémon game that will attract kids and adults who usually play on their 3DS (has to be Wii U exclusive though).
2- Nintendo needs to announce a quick release date for Smash, X, Zelda and Bayonetta 2.
I think Pikmin would be appealing on mobile
