I dont exactly agree with that.
They are not the ones making those games they make deals with third party and i agree that can be expensive for multiple platforms.
Also ps2 games are not being ported one by one they have a working emulator and they only have to bugfix weird stuff that pops up totally different from building those games from scatch.
But seeing ps4 is the platform thats most recent you'd expect they tried to offer better games for the service

i sort of agree with you but it seems that everything that doesn't become mainstream is a gimmick and that's not true.
as example if developers would make good use of the gamepad (inventory management, choosing attacks in rpg's, Minecraft with gamepad functionality, rts games with proper gamepad support, more games like blops 2 that made you use the gamepad as second screen, games like project zero, pokemon snap, metroid prime battalion wars)
