if you just finished downloading a movie, then all of a sudden your 360 blows up.

It would be tough to say who would have won. Though a build-in hddvd drive would be good for winning the format war, the 360 would have been the same price as the ps3. We all know what 600$ price tag does to a console. it's not pretty.
The harder microsoft pushes 360 in japan, the more the 360 fails.

MAJORITY of people still don't have broadband. MAJORITY of people do not like waiting hours for a movie. MAJORITY of people know about discs more than digital downloads and Hard drives.
Broadband and digital downloads has been here since the 1990's and still is slowly growing. you just expect to make digital downloads an accepted media in an instant. Sony gave the consumers something that they are familiar with. Disks. Sure it has been slow, but it was ...

By the time I'm done with the 15 minutes of downloading RROD would have already happened.
In a IGN podcast a month ago, they said too human is coming out a week after GTA4. Which I think is pretty stupid(IGN people did too). Who would release anything around GTA4. It'll kill any game that comes a week around it.
