Oh I get it, but it always cracks me up how people end up spending two and sometime three times the amount of a full price game in the end. It was a clever gimmick someone came up with to subtly milk people out of more than what they would have just paid for a full price game, that's why Gaas like offerings such as Game Pass are sheep in wolves clothing. Seem good on the surface but in the end they intend to bleed the gamer dry.
"Perhaps our largest complaint with Sea of Thieves is that its gameplay loop feels repetitive due to a lack of variation in voyages. You'll find yourself repeating the same three fetch quests"
This seems to be the common denominator in all the reviews even the marginally positive ones. It sounds like a game that people are claiming is "fun" now will get really old really quick. It will need some content infused into it fast in order to survive at all...
It shouldn't be, the comments shouldn't have been either, the comparison seems fair.
That's fair but I would submit that if it takes six to twelve months for the game to get better maybe they shouldn't have released it for another six to twelve months. Unfortunately first impressions are big in the gaming industry and it seems it hasn't made a good one. In six to twelve months the game may indeed be better, but how many people will have long since moved on by then.
Weird I had a dream almost exactly like this the other night.
And now you see kids why microtransactions are here to stay. Gotta get those super cool outfits.
There is plenty wrong with this game but I dont see this as being that big of a deal unless you die constantly or something. If I recall correctly I think GTA V had a similar mechanic where you were charged a hospital visit fee after dying in game.
I'm sorry but that is not the problem with this game. Style wise it looks like Fortnite and Fortnite is doing just fine, this is not.
No it becomes an empty boring repetitive cross platform game. If NMS was cross platform it wouldn't have suddenly made it a better game.
That's really odd cause I didn't see any complaints when that 9.3 score came out less then 24 hours after the game released.
"feel they have to review it in a certain way."
So if it gets a bad review its because the person was forced to review it a certain way and not because they're forming their own opinion of the game? What utter nonsense. I'll have to remember that though for the next Playstation game that gets a bad review.
So they entertain as apposed to being lifeless and dull.
If it doesn't be ready for a review of why the reviews aren't correct.
The same can be said for almost any game though, this just comes off as damage control. Oh xboxenthusiast, defenitly damage control.
Glad you're enjoying it, I'd say based off the overwhelming poor reviews you're in the minority and that's ok you have fun. As far as having everything given to you well I'm perfectly fine with the idea of giving someone a sandbox and saying here go make your own fun, whats not ok is charging people $60 for the sandbox and saying make your own fun with not much else in the sandbox but sand, and I guess in this case water.
Based on everything I've read including this very article, "It is certainly not worth the price tag." I'd have to say its a pretty resounding no.
Colb you gotta start putting /S at the end of these, you're freaking people out.
Feel better?
I disagree, I am an avid Playstation gamer and have been since PS1 and I make no bones about the fact I love and prefer Playstation but this game being a failure helps no one, xbox needed a quality game and its a shame a game so many hopes were riding on didn't deliver. It also doesn't help as we need competition in the industry so that developers and console makers are pushed to be their best, what Sony is doing right now is no doubt amazing but we dont need them resting on their lau...
You feel better, you seem really upset about something. Don't worry my guy for every "fanboy" out in full force reviewing the game and letting everyone know the game is lifeless, boring and repetitive, theres an xbox fanboy defending and apologizing for it. Let me ask you though, where were you when No Mans Sky came out and all the "fanboy idiots" as you like to call them were attacking it?
