It barely scratched the surface of what the game is all about. The single player has a great storyline and really fun gameplay mechanics, and the multiplayer is also very very good. Ranking up in multiplayer can take quite a while (unlike COD4), but you are only rewarded with new outfits. Still extremely fun and well worth the purchase. I played through single player twice and got to the highest rank available on multiplayer (supreme commander i think).
I spent some serious time with this game online, but I would assume that many of the people have moved on to RB6V-2. It may be difficult to find enough people to play games online, but it's still well worth the $30 to warrant a purchase.
I played the demo and it was pretty damn scary, but the controls were a bit too clunky for me. Camera wasn't terrible but I hope they clean some things up a bit. It'll still be worth the $15 for the first part. After 4 episodes I'll see if the rest of the game is worth the purchase.
That's definitely something that we need to keep in mind. If PS3 owners found out that Bioshock2 wouldn't be coming to PS3 then people planning on purchasing Bioshock 1 might think twice about buying it.
Bubbles up for thinking outside the box.
EDIT - For whoever disagreed with me, what do you disagree with? Try using your brain for a moment and think about other PS3 owners. I would buy the game regardless, but some people will without a doubt protest Bioshoc...
That BioShock 2 will be coming to the PS3 and 360 at the same time this time around. There's been a big rumor about Microsoft paying for the advertising in exchange for the temporary exclusivity, (Note* I said RUMOR). So, this time around since everybody knows that it's multiplatform then it won't be much of a surprise coming to both PS3 and 360 at the same time.
Either way, I personally can't wait to play BioShock 1 on my PS3. Played it on my brother's 360 for about 4-5 hou...
Even if it is a bit too expensive we're simply paying for the convenience. This way it's available at the click of a button, and tonight! Prices may even come down once the excitement dies down a bit, but only time will tell.
Plus this just shows Sony cares about the PS3 owners and is providing one more service to us on a free network. Thanks
Even if it is a 24 hour rental then it may still be worth $3 to $5, even if it is just for the convenience. Plus in HD it will be nice to have available.
If it's not worth it then I'm sure the prices will (hopefully) come down a bit once all the excitement dies down.
Questions will be answered in the near future, but in the meantime I'm glad we're getting this service tonight!
Man this is driving me crazy not to see or hear what's going on.
Thanks to everyone who is posting info on what's happening with the video store and games, etc. I'm giving as much positive feedback to everyone I can. If I could give kewlkat007 more bubbles than I have already then I would. I'll keep you in mind next time I see you post on here.
if anything important is said. I keep refreshing the page because I am unfortunately at work and I can't see it myself. I'm counting on you all to help a fellow PS3'er up to date with any big news. God this is killing me not to hear or see what's going on. Bubbles to anyone who can help fill me in.
Come on SONY. Let's make this one count!
but it will take you out of the game if you decide to begin the chat. This feature will most likely bring you into the chat room that is currently available, but there's a chance that you could send an in game audio message under the "create a message" heading. It may give another option for audio message as opposed to just typing it.
The games made now are exponentially more technical than those of the 8 bit nintendo days. So many more aspects of the game require so much more attention that it's only human to make errors or overlook something so obvious or small. We've all had this happen to us at one point or another when we were completing a math problem for homework and misplaced the decimal point. As simple an error as that is, it can still create a huge problem in the final answer. Same goes for programmers and d...
and it worked. I can see how easily players can get discouraged with the controls learning curve, but if you play for a couple of hours then it becomes second nature. Some buttons you have to hold and press a direction to roll, flip over, throw grenades behind you or in front, play dead, etc. At times it can be confusing but worthwhile in the long run.
After finishing MGS4 for the 2nd time I now have a desire to play through the other Metal Gear games. Any recommendations?? Ba...
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to play this game on my brother's 360. We played about 4 or 5 hours into the game and I didn't want to put it down. Cool thing about this game is you can play through the same part of the game so many different ways that it has a good replay value. Instead of shooting someone with a gun you can electricute the puddle they are standing in to kill of 2 or 3 at the same time. Seriously a great experience that nobody should leave behind.
Bioshock was one of the few 360 games that I was actually jealous of. My brother bought it and we both played through most of it together. Never finished it and now I'm excited as can be that it's coming my way on the PS3!
Memo to all gamers....Bioshock is an outstanding game and we are all lucky to have the opportunity to play it on whatever system you own.
With a little luck we may see Mass Effect for PS3 in the near future (not too probable though).
Funny how he said that M*soft game lineup is stronger than the PS3, but he never mentioned any games (except for some PS3 titles). Not sure where he came up with this brilliant idea, but Sony has a much stronger title lineup coming out in the near future. Sure, Gears 2 will be awesome, but nothing new there.
On the other hand there is a slew of PS3 titles coming out that are sure to turn the tides. I don't really need to name them since they've been named over and over again.
when turning off the game it will beep 3 times and shut off. There's still no word on why that's happening either, but the PSN is back on line and no problems.
Confirmed!
You can relax R*. We've solved the problem with the 360s.
It's simply the RRoD.! !
Edit: Before everybody starts hating, I was just playing.
ps. My launch 60gig ps3 has had no problems, but I was sweating it for a minute when I heard about the freezing news.
and I've got a launch 60 gig. No freezing at all, and the online is pretty awesome! Online was down for a little while, but it has been up since yesterday afternoon. Not a single problem since.
Sorry for all those in need of R* help out there. Just reading the previous articles about the freezing on the 60 gig had me terrified until I got out of work Tuesday. WHEW!!!
We'll see some GTA4 downloadable content this week.
Not gonna happen but wouldn't that be great!
A guy's gotta have dreams.
Although it's not a new version there are hardly any freezing issues at all. The patch fixed almost every freezing error. The entire time I played this game from beginning to end I had the game freeze on me twice, and they were both before the patch came out. This game you honestly may just want to rent because it doesn't take all that long to beat. After you beat it you won't really play through it very much. Still it's a great game with intuitive controls and great visuals. Might wann...
