The only way I can see this happening is if Xbox ignore the parity clause. Like destiny 1 only releasing DLC for the PS4 xbone version. The disk less series X might be sold as an upgrade to the series s
I don't understand how reviews can give it a 10 and say things like "best Bethesda game since oblivion" you are giving it a perfect score while also saying that a previous game made by them is better while excluding comparisons of games from other developers. 10 means masterpiece, a game that excels at everything it achieves. This game definitely isn't a 10 but close to it
Real question is can they afford to? Can they sustain the acquisitions through GP subs. They might move to a "play it here first" model. Relying on sales on other platforms to bolster their profits
This just makes me want a Chromehounds reboot, I loved AC on the PS1 but Chromehounds was fire with its online
Do you remember when a "new" game was actually new. Not just a rehash of assets from the previous game. Pepperidge Farm remembers.
The dock could have a disk for installing games, no need to have one on the device itself
And this is why any sequel will be worse and this game will be Bethesda's last of this scale and ambition. This was developed on a multiplatform budget with the investment based on millions of retail price sold copies. That is almost completely gone now
Community made maps allowing tracks and new game types would be a start
I'm think this is a by product of a ultra low latency wireless psvr2 adapter. Project Q won't cost alot to make if the development was for another project, battery, hardware based video decompression. 8 inch screens are cheap and the controller has had as little thought about it as possible.
A game built with a multi platform budget limited to xbox will guarantee that cuts have been made, either with this game or any sequel that may come after it.
Sony are right. During the 360 days Xbox were the king of COD. The cell chip in the Ps3 made COD run poorly so Xbox was the place to go. Xbone/PS4 generation the scales flipped and playstation was the best for performance. Xbox and Playstation know COD has a fanbase that play nothing but COD and they have proven for 2 generations that they don't have console alliances and will go with whatever machine gives them the best performance.
But Sony create their high end. It's like moaning at apple for not letting other companies manufacture iPhones.
My brother was screen sharing while in gt7 with psvr2, got some nice comparison shots of the UI when he isn't looking at it. He doesn't notice it at all. Certainly a neat trick to boost quality
Game Pass is partly to blame here. Money made from subs cannot sustain game development in the same way traditional game sales do. Adjusted for inflation Skyrim made $1.31bn in its first 30 days, equal to a third of the yearly revenue (not profit) of Game Pass. To boost profit they either need to develop games cheaper or take more money from the subs.
When matchmaking is based on player strength, then you will have to wait for other players of similar combat points. Or in their case, other idiots who have spent 100k 🤣
An accolade that is completely worthless when price of entry is zero. See how many stay, that will be the true measure of success
Sort out the single player, then focus on a GTA online sort of multiplayer implementation, but without the over the top silliness.
Make a console that you believe will sell itself. Microsoft are only hurting themselves by not putting games on all platforms. No matter what, putting a game on other consoles will always result in more sales. Are Xbox a game company or hardware company?
How are game pass subs going to sustain these studios? Game development is expensive, Netflix spends about 10 billion on original content each year. If Xbox wants to be the Netflix of gaming then they will need to get wayyyyyy more subs, 10 times to be exact to get a £55 annual subscription to break even on 180 million subs with $10 billion of investment into the service.
The CMA is allowing the deal with the concession that the streaming rights to Activision games aren't included. Microsoft have obviously overstated the importance of game streaming as Call of Duty will be unplayable as will any competitive FPS
