I wonder if this is just for the US Store or if it'll be on the EU Store too.
It also seems trophy support must be coming in the next few days/weeks because it's included in the list of features the PSN download will have.
Excellent! Now we get it even earlier! Not long to wait now...
Awesome, a trophy guide to help all those trophy padders out there. :(
At least I've achieved all of mine the proper way rather than setting up my own server. :)
Cagney was out first for PS3 because there were some last minute bugs found in the 360 version, which was delayed. They were originally intended to both be released the same day.
So, unless there's some bugs on the 360 version, I don't see why both shouldn't be rleeased next Thursday.
Who said anything about it coming first on PS3? No specific console is mentioned, so it should be out for both on the same day.
Before everyone gets too excited, notice how they say they are aiming for next Thursday. Usually their estimated releaste dates are accurate (for the PS3 at least), but it's still not 100% confirmed yet.
But hopefully it will be here then! :D
They're bringing info on the trophies next week. But trophies aren't in the bikes pack.
It's now available to download in the UK from the in-game store. Go online then go to Downloads. £3.99 and 173mb.
Apparantly those who downloaded it couldn't actually play it. The game crashed or something when the tried.
I think it's a perfect price. Each one has added at least another 10 hours of gameplay for me. Probably 30 for Broken Mirror.
Consider what we're getting - a new large map with 10 layouts, a new vehicle sort of thing which changes the way we play the game, AND the use of the jetpack in 30 of the original map layouts.
I think when you compare it to other PSN games such as Super Stardust or PixelJunk Eden, both of which (I think) are about half the price, it seems a bit expensive in my opinion. I've had at least 10 hours out of both of those games, yet with Quest for Booty I've got through it twice in about 6 hours. It's just my opinion, but I don't think there's as much replay value as there could have been.
But then when you compare the price to a movie or something like that, it seems comple...
I don't see a problem if it's released on both Blu-ray and PSN. If you don't want to download it, go and get it from a store. But there are some people out there who will want to download it...
Simple answer: nope, afraid not. They said in the podcast months ago it couldn't be done.
No restart is a feature of the game which actually makes a lot of sense. If you fail an event, you fail, and so if you want to do it again you drive back to the start (it only takes a couple of minutes really, and the whole point in the game anyway is driving, so why would you even get this game if you don't like doing that?) Instant restart is never going to happen. I assure you that if you played the game for longer than a couple of hours you won't find it a problem.
@kinggeoff - The Warhawk booster packs are never a rip-off. The previous two have each added a new map (both of which were huge and had several different layouts) and a new vehicle. And the vehicles aren't just there for the sake of it, but change the way you play the game.
In my opinion it would be a rip-off if they were charging for more of the same of what we've already got, but that's not what they're doing.
Paradise is rated E. The MTV article got it wrong for some reason.
And apparantly the motorbikes are more about speed than crashing anyway.
Certainly sounds interesting, I can't wait to race around Paradise on a bike... :)
Just to point out the bottom of the article though:
"They hope we’ll be happy with free motorcycles"
Not sure if that is accurate because Criterion have always previously stated that the bikes would be payed-for content, and the day/night cycle and atmospherics would be free.
This game is looking good. I just hope that the vehicle types and different routes are more balanced in this game. In Motorstorm everyone always used the rally car and on most tracks there was only really one route worth taking, it kind of defeated the point in my opinion.
Can't wait until it's released!
Well that's the point. If you don't have much time to make levels, then you don't need lots of server space.
Anyone who makes rubbish levels won't be able to take up loads of space with stuff nobody wants to play, whereas those who make the best levels get more space to continue sharing great stuff. Which means we get more good levels and less bad ones. It can only be a good thing!
I can't believe they haven't even mentioned who created the level.
