Still don't see what this article has to do with PSN...
Simple solution: Label your "test render" as "test render" when you show it to people.
People aren't disappointed because they used pre-rendered visuals, they are disappointed because it was used to mislead.
With the recent price drop of the 360, all indications are that sales will go up for that console. Wii is still selling like crazy. In light of these things, it's an odd comment for him to make.
Comments like these don't give me any more faith in the PS3. It's the commitment to creating great 1st party games and improving their console's firmware to match the 360's capabilities. Which, during the year of 2008, they've been doing. This year's PS3 firmware updates have bee...
Yeah for me it was either Resistance 2 (which I have fully paid already, but haven't picked up) or this game. I'm gonna wait for the demo before making a decision. I loved Res 1, but was dissappointed by all the changes in the R2 beta, and I felt the multi wasn't as good as the first one's. This game though, could be the team FPS of 2008. But the single player in Res 2 should be far better.
Tough decisions...been like this since 2005...so many great games in the Fall.
It's interesting to note that Fallout 3 has shipped nearly the same amount in a week than MGS4 has done in half a year, because it is for 3 platforms (PC, PS3, and 360).
Konami might want to consider multi-platform development for that reason alone. If they want to have timed exclusives, that would make sense, they can get money from Sony or MS for a timed exclusive, and then make a lot when it goes multi.
It's pretty obvious, I'm surprised you're even questioning it.
Having an event that will likely involve many under-18 gamers isn't a good thing for retailers or game makers, when it comes to the industry trying to portray a useful ratings system.
Secondly, the media has been quick to point to videogames, when it was only a point of dispute rather than any cause. It could have been a fight over something else, like being able to surf the net, or taking dad's ...
I know people who've played Gears 2 and are in the beta for KZ2. They say that it compares because it does other things right, like textures for example, are razor sharp in Gears. Both games feature motion blur, but I think it's done better in KZ2 when I compare it to Gears 1. I think anyone saying one is better than the other are only looking at particular factors, and not taking into account that one game does some areas better than the other, but falls short in other areas.
The PS3 just outsold the Wii and 360 COMBINED in Japan, this article is wrong in that aspect.
But in Canada the 360 has destroyed the PS3 thus far. You could find the 20Gb model for $199 at FS and BB (as the 60Gb models are coming in), and they've been selling like crazy.
Those screens are too small to directly compare, but I've done a higher resolution comparison on another forum. Technically, the actual game falls short. The lighting isn't as detailed, and neither is the geometry. You'll note in the beta that the lighting model on the characters have been simplified for online play (32 players...something's gotta give). And obviously the texture quality took a big hit, in the CG it looks really good but in the game it's noticably worse.

Food for thought...
1) A comparison between Gears 2 and Resistance 2 makes much more sense.
2) LBP is a game with LEGS. With infinite content (because it's made by users), LBP is a game that will keep on giving, from now till the PS4.
3) LBP sales should be noted though, as it's an all ages title that can potentially expand the PS3 audience.
4) Sony messed up the LBP launch by delaying it for no reason (Muslims weren't offended by t...
