When retailers charge 60$ per game. Replay value DOES matter. CoD, evolve, Battlefield and other multi-player heavy games can get away with an 8hr campaign because the replay value online can be 50hrs plus. BEING SHORT DOES NOT MAKE IT A BAD GAME,but it does mean that the game may not be worth it to a lot of people. It may even bother those who bought it. As it stands (to me) the game is not worth the 60$ price tag.
I made it to the end of September. Was pumped for the Queens event, thinking it would add an actual back story. All i got was the ability to replay the first mission with the reward of getting a crappy epic. Stopped playing after that, told myself maybe ill come back when the dlc launched. Then i saw the anemic amount of content in the dlc for 20$ and ignored it. Traded it in for 40$ and bought Shadows of Mordor.
This is going to be interesting watching Activision drag this dead pony around for 10yrs. I can already see the box for Destiny 2, "Now with more story!".
10-12hrs for a STORY DRIVEN GAME is actually pretty poor.
PS Now is a good deal IF you haven't played a Sony game since the Ps2 era. You can catch up and play some decent games. That being said, the library has to updated a bit more before its a really good deal though. baby steps but eventually it will be worth it.
Gameplay was fun but the story was shitty (Urks? Caragors? Graug? Why the hell not call them orcs (or urakai) worgs, and trolls?). The game was a blast to play though, but I do agree with the article. LOTR was never really about the violence.
Which is just silly. I can understand gating content that is released with the dlc. But blocking content that was available a day before is pretty crooked.
I think what peeves me the most is the use of the word "expansion". Ive seen dlc that blows this away in terms of story progression (although in Destiny i think this is impossible to salvage at this point), content, and overall progression of the series. I mean they reused the same models and areas. Bungie is still silent on when any new planets will be released and oh look Iron banner returns!
Man I miss Turok...
Destiny to do List:
Add Space combat
Actually add new planets when you release an "expansion"
Actually add more than 30mins of story with an "expansion"
Reduce the amount of RNG when it comes to weekly vendors
Implement a system close to WoW where your first Exotic engram is for your class.
Add Sparrow (spelling?)racing / gambling (whats the point of these expensive upgrades when Im just traveling on a linear map)

The last few Crash games (going back to his ps2 debut) have been pretty lackluster. Either he needs a complete overhaul (like Spyro received) or they just need to remaster 1-3 +CTR. If they did that I would go out tomorrow and buy a Ps4.
Really though... Sony doesn't own the series and even the last Crash came out on both the Nintendo and xbox console.
You guys do know that if it is released it will be multiplat right?
If you want the best in graphics and the most exclusives, buy a gaming pc. In the long run you will save money. Not only will you get better performance and a rig you can upgrade for years to come, you can also grab AAA games for a fraction of the cost. Steam sales and indie humble bundles are huge money savers.
No shareplay: Since i usually buy/rent my own games this really isn't a big deal for me.
No Ps vita compatibility: Uhm.. ok... since I don't own a 200$ paper weight this means really nothing to me.
Exclusives: Really? The x1 has some great exclusives. Just like the ps4. Sunset overdrive and the MCC for example.
Controller is trash/batteries: I prefer the microsoft design over the dualshock controller. Even for PC gaming. This is coming from a gamer who spent o...
When you buy a console during the first year you are taking a financial risk. Did I know the price would eventually drop? Yes. Do I want a refund? No. Why? Because I wanted to have it day 1. I paid more because I wanted to play it first. So for the past year Ive been enjoying games on this console. Seems worth it to me.
Why can't we just let sonic die... please put the damn critter to sleep already
Destiny is the definition of mediocre. Sad that people will fund this. Although if we are going to point fingers its the CoD crowd that created this half assed monster.
After the destiny debacle? Fuck that i hope Bungie stays as far away as possible. All the talent has already left bungie for other places (including 343)
People should rent this game, the story seems great and it seems like the perfect rent. Play, beat (and plat) in one/two days. Seems like a solid way to get people to hear and see your work.
