Don't blame a console maker. Blame the Devs/Publishers for cutting content and then reselling it for extra cash. This is what is going to lead to another crash in gaming. Yes the systems are selling strong threw a recession, but the publishers and Developers are going to kill peoples interest in gaming by screwing them out of content that needs to be there.

You seem to forget that LAIR although bad with a DS3/Sixaxis was able to be played with the PSP and the controls were much better due to not having SIXAXIS forced.

Problem with The Shadowrun game was it was a demo of what could be done on XBL but since then M$ has clamped down on the access to live.

The problem with your idea of User created content is that it was first in FPS games of the Dial-up Era i.e. Quake/Quake 2/Unreal Tournament99.
It is a problem due to the fact that by the content level from that Gen is not even half as much. When you are paying 30-40$ more and only getting a quarter as much content is where the trouble starts.
If the developers/Publishers are not going to listen to the fans cry for better content, then it comes to the consumers to speak with their wallets.
This should be about EA and their sport games....
