lol knack has a more complex artstyle? Knack has the most generic, uninspired artstyle, whereas sly has one of the most distinct, cel shaded artstyles in a cartoony game. It's stylized and memorable, whereas Knack is mundane, with boring uses of colour.

I think Knack himself is designed pretty cool, but the general character design - and art style itself for that matter - is painfully bland, lacking any sort of distinct personality or much appeal
Sly 1 was leagues ahead of Knack in terms of artstyle, story, characters, gameplay variety, level design... the list goes on.
It didn't need a second chance because it was acclaimed by both critics and the general public.

Agreed. The worst of example of this was in Horizon; I'd never witnessed such forced tokenism in one certain part of that game.
