Check back on n4g now and again and you'll know
Yes Sony lost a lot of money, but not on the playstation division, and that's mainly what's relevant here, no?
I think you're talking about how you could use your PSN account to log in to Steam.
Yeah, even if it turns out to be directed towards casual games, there will be a lot of die hard Xbox fans who will buy it. I think MS saw the success of the kinect as a sign to push in that direction. But services and apps? Most TVs have that now so there is stiff competition there. Feels a bit Zune-y to try to win that market now...
I think it's more than just translation involved in getting it to different territories.
Word. Can't understand that BC is some people's top priority. Just keep your ps3 ffs.

The 8gbs of fast RAM was the best and most important info, especially since there were rumors about 4 before the event
MS went with 360 instead of xbox 2 just to get the number 3 in there. Can't have the xbox 2 compete with ps3, so they skipped a gen name-wise :-)
Initially, it was said that the ps4 would have less but faster RAM than the xbox. Now they say 8gb ram, but still says 'less than xbox', which is supposed to have 8 as well... So, it seems that the writer of this article has missed that 'fact'. One source stated that the 8gb was only for a dev version, not retail. I truly hope it's 8gb though, less easily available ram was perhaps the ps3s biggest point of failure, and was what caused problems in Skyrim for example.
I think there will be 4k support in the ps4, but mainly for video. Most games today still run in 720, and few run 60fps. So just having all games run 1080p@60fps would be a step for next gen. With time, there will be the occasional games supporting 4k, but it is highly unlikely that this will be the standard res for next gen.
Prince of persia for ps3, hated the 'for dummies' controls
Killzone 3 was great with move, encourage everyone who has it to try it with move and an attachment. Sadly, there doesnt seem to be any other good move fps games though.
Regardless of speed, I too think I've would've preferred more RAM and am slightly surprised that Sony would put the PlayStation in this position again, just think about Skyrim. One would think they would have learned the lesson after all poorly performing ports. Also, things like a browser probably benefits from more rather than fast RAM, and if they are reserving only 512mb to OS features they risk ending up with a basically unusable browser etc yet again
As already stated above, MS was clearly, well let's call it inspired by Sony, when they designed their control. They probably switched d-pad position to avoid being sued.
Agree with above, it's in Alpha state and should never have been allowed to go live. There are literally millions of people who use the store, a little quality control...?
Whenever there's an article about the how expensive the launch model was it always misses the bigger picture. At the time, there was a war between the Blu-Ray and the HD-DVD camp. Sony used the PS3 to push the Blu-Ray format at the expense of revenue for and initial adoption of the PS3. Regarding the format war however, "the rest is history"...
I wish they would fix the jagged shadows, or include an option to disable them. Sometimes it's just amazing how ugly they are. Haven't had any framerate issues on ps3 though, guess my save wasn't big enough before the 1.4 patch.
Not likely, their state would probably only need to be loaded when they entered the same area, but whether they are in the vicinity or not could be checked against data on disk once in a while.
I kinda agree. After a short while using a new interface, I want something clean and responsive. Also, I don't want to see news etc that I'm not interested in.
