Check out the Qore episode about Resistance 2 (the episode that granted access to the beta). They show how it's done there.
They record in a room full of sensors, moving the camera within a red square on the floor.
It's a bit like mo-cap animation, but instead of persons being motion captured, it's a hand-held camera. It makes for a much more realistic and movie-like feel to the cut-scenes within the game.
Let me clarify a few things with better translation.
There is quite a commotion going on in the Norwegian game community after the country's biggest gaming site Gamer.no posted a rather negative 6/10 review of Killzone 2 yesterday morning.
It contained obvious flame-bait phrases like:
Title of the review: "The false prophet"
"Playstations long expected trump card is finally out of the sleeve, and it's rather a jack than an ace."...
Having played through the game on PC, and knowing that the game includes most DLC, and is rebuilt in the ME3 engine, I'd say yes. It's absolutely worth it. :)
