Nintendo switch launched on March 3rd of 2017. It has been plagued with short supply. It still sold over 10 million in 10 months in it's launch year and is projected to sell 14 million over 12 months...and what do you know the first full year of ps4 sales is about .... wait for it... 14 million.

That being said... To increase sales numbers year over year by 16% in its fifth year is very impressive. Who would have thought that having great games matters? Microsoft need...

as long as the older tech is properly supported I don't see the downside. Smartphones have a 1 yr refresh cycle. There is no confirmed date for the launch of this so it could be more than 2 years. Wireless VR can't come soon enough imo.

I feel that EA has become too topheavy. Too many suits commanding huge salaries while they piss on developers and customers. The practice of focusing on securing exclusive rights to things like football and soccer and star wars is designed to limit competition, and de-emphasize quality of product while emphasizing marketing reach. EA is no longer a development studio imo. It has become a corporate leech on creativity of others and sucks the life soul of beloved franchises until they are nothi...

UAS is the correct term as outlined by AUVSI since 2013. Nobody I know who works in the industry as I do uses the term UAV anymore. You might want to update your acronym is all I'm saying

Didn't know ppl still used the term 'UAV' still. Didn't that acronym get retired 5 + years ago?

be careful with ambiguous pronouns. Not sure whether by "it" you meant the switch or the wii u.

IMO ping pong is the killer app for VR. Eleven is amazing! This looks like it could be even more fun. I hope it has oculus support as well as HTC vive

The TCL for the money seems to be quite the bargain. That 15 ms input lag for gaming is impressive. What's funny is that the image they used was of a samsung. The TCL uses the two sets of legs towards the outside edges and the bezel is smaller.

and xbox1x has nothing on a top tier pc. what's your point? At the end of the day, Top tier PC > X1X > PS4 pro > PS4 > Xbox 1. It's all about budget threshold and control preferences.

I am personally happy with the upgrade path as opposed to complete generational leaps. It kind of solves the whole "backward compatibility" issue. If MS, Sony and Nintendo just keep doing hardware upgrades every 3 to 4 years i'd prefer that over brand new ha...

Tha price point is a step in the right direction since it does include motion controllers. As an owner of oculus w/ touch and psvr, i'm glad they went with a psvr style headset. BUT the biggest problem with vr imho are the wires. VR needs to become wireless. I cant stand the fact that all the time i'm playing, I have to be constantly conscious of where i'm stepping.

Make this wireless MS and you have a winner

If you want value for your money right now then I completely agree with you that the PS4 is difficult to argue against in terms of games it offers and the affordability of being able to buy many of the back catalog games that are so good. I don't understand your argument of the ps4 being way cheaper especially since you bought a ps4 pro which is $100 more than the cost of a switch. I wish that Nintendo would focus more of its efforts on making switch hardware instead of pushing out things...

I really miss the super difficult aspect of the original wipeout. Where you really had to focus on picking your racing line and utilizing your airbrakes. If you hit a wall, you lost all momentum and it rewarded you for clean driving. I still enjoyed every wipeout game since, but I'd really like to see a return to that pure driving. I also miss the owl. :( RIP psygnosis liverpool

@eatcrow - You are one of the millions of reasons why racism perpetuates to this day. You seem like a thoughtful and intelligent person who is capable of putting together a cogent argument yet you really can't seem to wrap your head around just why it's wrong. You look at the argument from the view point of the intent of the person saying the harmful words. You have no way to know the intent of the speaker. How is addressing people as individuals instead of grouping them based on race...

switch launched with an all new zelda and a masterpiece at that. Wii U had no such support. Nintendo has such a rich trove of first party must haves (mario, mario kart, zelda, pokemon, animal crossing, smash brothers, etc) that in a large part they can survive pretty well as long as they can keep supplying these. I think i read somewhere that almost 90% of switch owners picked up a copy of BOTW.

2017 imo has started off as the best gaming year in recent memory. I can't remember when this many not just good, but truly amazing games have been released. The only absence is a truly great car racing game.

There are over 40 million PS4s. There are less than 10 million Wii U and Switches combined. It would be very difficult for Zelda to outsell any AAA title given the install base

I completely agree with you apocalypse. Biggest issue with VR is cost of entry. I do 90% of my gaming in VR now. The difference is analogous to showing a person pictures of the grand canyon and actually going to the grand canyon.

The biggest issues I have besides cost (it really needs to get to below $250 imo) is the stupid segmentation of the software market between HTC and Oculus. There are some fantastic games and software that is only for HTC and some that are only for...

This seems like the typical person who tried on a google vr and thought that the $50 experience is indicative of what the $800 experience would be like. I have yet to meet someone who has tried an HTC Vive or an Oculus CV1 with touch and not be completely blown away. The games need to catch up and I hope that RE VII's huge success with VR will pave the way to show developers just how mainstream VR can be.
